September 25, 2023 is another manic monday for Team CCS. The extension program Pagpaugwad kang Abilidad: Strengthening the Technical Skills of the DepEd Teachers Phase II commenced today and will continue for the rest of the week to accommodate all public elementary schools in the District of Tibiao.

For the first session, the Cluster 1 - composed of La Paz Integrated School, San Isidro Primary School, and San Francisco Norte Elementary School - was visited. SFN Elementary School was very accommodating and made sure to prepare a comfortable venue for the participants. 29 teachers were present to attend the workshop about Presentation Techniques with Sir Nolan M. Yumen, MIS as the resource speaker. He was with some of the faculty members of the college headed by the Associate Dean, May Lynn M. Farren, Ph.D.TM to assist the participants.

Sir Nolan's talk caught the teachers' interest as the topic can really help them deliver their lessons in an interactive manner. Before ending the session, one of the participants proactively created a short presentation while applying the things discussed during the training and presented his output.

Despite the limited time, this first of many sessions we have with the DepEd Teachers was a fruitful one. The Team CCS is grateful for the cooperation and warm accommodation extended to us. Thank you so much. ♥️

PS. Thank you for the snacks, Generous Sponsor. ♥️

Since no pictures mean things didn't happen, allow us to share the photos taken during the extension monitoring on July 26, 2023, as the ESU (Extension Services Unit) of the College of Computer Studies went to Sebaste and Pandan to visit the beneficiaries. The team checked the resources extended to the community and the utilization of these resources. We took the defective units so we could perform troubleshooting. Fortunately, these units worked perfectly after some fixing. As of writing, these units are being sent back to their respective users. Meanwhile, the complete result of the said monitoring is available at the office of the Extension Chairperson.

Finally, the long wait is over! The series of arduous weekend sessions for the Computer Literacy Training of ALS Learners has ended. But the training didn't simply conclude after completing the assigned activities. The learners were also required to take the assessment to qualify for graduation, and they willingly accepted the challenge.

So, on June 24, 2023, the Extension Services Unit of the College of Computer Studies organized a Culminating Activity to recognize the hard work of the participants, resource persons, and facilitators. Special awards were also given to learners who displayed outstanding performances during the training. Moreover, Sir Rex Fabillano, a former ALS Learner who eventually became a Licensed Professional Teacher, recalled his experiences on how the ICT Training helped him as he pursued his degree to inspire the participants on the value of education.

To witness this significant event, the Director for RECETS/Associate Dean of the College of Teacher Education, Dr. Aldrex A. Barrientos, was present and was tasked to deliver a message on behalf of the Campus Director, Dr. Porferio S. Bangcaya. Also present were the Associate Dean of the College of Computer Studies, Dr. May Lynn M. Farren, the Extension Coordinator of UA-TLMC, Prof. Alvin M. Doroteo, Principal II/Principal In-Charge of the District, Mrs. Jemelyn M. Baleña, Program Heads, Faculty, Staff, ALS Teachers, and learners.

To our dear ALS Learners, keep learning, and set goals. What you aim for, you can achieve. Congratulations for a job well done and God bless you all. ❤️

After several suspensions of meetings due to inclement weather, the extension program for ALS resumed on May 06, 2023. The last topic to complete the Computer Literacy Training was MS Excel. Ma'am Ninia Rose M. Etorcita was the Resource Speaker for this lesson. Ma'am Ninia started her discussion by introducing the interface of MS Excel. She also discussed creating tables, formulas, and more. After the lecture, the learners worked on the MS Excel Exercises to practice what they have learned.

They continued working with the remaining activities in the afternoon as they were expected to complete ten exercises. MS Excel is somewhat different from MS Word and PowerPoint. The students were feeling perplexed while working with the exercises but remained determined to complete their tasks. CCS students and faculty members were also present to assist them. Admiringly, the students accomplished the ten activities before ending the day. It is still a commendable job for all of them. 🤗

PS. WE DO APOLOGIZE FOR THE SOCIAL MEDIA HIATUS BUT WE'RE BACK FOR MORE UPDATES. THANK YOU. ❤️

The journey to acquiring technical skills continues during the Pagpabakud kang Kinaaram Paagi sa Teknolohiya: a CCS Extension Program with the ALS Learners.✨

On April 01, 2023, the Computer Literacy Training proceeded to Microsoft Powerpoint as the next topic, with Ma'am Elisa B. Genove as the Resource Speaker. The training commenced with a discussion about the basics of presentation, features, and uses of MS PowerPoint. This lecture ended with a short assessment.

In the afternoon, the students started having their hands-on exercises. It is their 5th week in class, and the learners displayed improvement in navigating the PC and exploring the MS Powerpoint. Some of the students can already perform their activities with less supervision. As a result, the learners were able to accomplish two activities before ending the day. We are happy with everyone's milestone. 🤗

The Computer Literacy Training of the ALS Learners will resume on April 15, 2023 🗓️ and the remaining exercises for Microsoft PowerPoint will also be performed on the same day.

PAGPABAKUD KANG KINAARAM PAAGI SA TEKNOLOHIYA.

MS WORD ✅

The ALS Learners finally accomplished the 2nd part of their Computer Literacy Training. The 3-day session for Microsoft Word started last March 11, 2023. On this day, the class started with a short discussion about Keyboard Familiarization with Maam Gladys Mayette S. Patricio as the Resource Person. The parts of the keyboard and the primary function of each part were introduced. The learners were also given a hands-on activity to practice keyboarding which is now considered a technical skill. In the afternoon, Microsoft Word, its history, uses, and interface, was presented. The discussion was followed by another hands-on activity. The learners were expected to complete 10 MS Word Exercises. Before the day ended, the students completed 2 out of 10 Exercises. The Faculty Members, selected CCS students, and the ALS Mobile Teachers were present to assist the students.

On March 18, 2023, the second session for Microsoft Word was spent working on the MS Word exercises. The faculty members, students, and ALS Mobile Teachers were present to give assistance to our learners.

On March 25, 2023, most learners completed their word activities. The checking of hands-on exercises was done as it was the last day of the Microsoft Word training. To conclude the 3-day session, the learners were given hands-on and written assessments. We are grateful to the faculty members of the College, trainees, student officials, and the ALS Mobile Teachers for continuously supporting this Extension Activity.

On to the next session! 🤗
