TROPICAL CYCLONE UPDATE
Leon maintains its strength as it decelerates over the Philippine Sea.
At 4:00 a.m. Monday, it was located 840 km east of Central Luzon, with winds of 85 kph and gusts up to 105 kph. It is moving westward at 10 kph.
Wind signal no. 1 remains in effect in eastern mainland Cagayan, eastern Isabela, and northeastern Catanduanes.
More areas may be placed under wind signals as the storm moves closer to land.

It may start turning northwestward Monday afternoon. It may make landfall over Taiwan early Friday and exit the Philippine area of responsibility later that day.
The strengthening of the high pressure area steering may lead to a further westward shift in its track.

The outer rain bands of may affect Extreme Northern Luzon between Tuesday and Thursday while its trough may also reach parts of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
