23 October 2025. To strengthen awareness and understanding on Fair Trade Laws (FTLs) and DTI services among students from the Lyceum of the Philippines University - Cavite, the Department of Trade and Industry – Cavite (DTI-Cavite) conducted the Seminar on Fair Trade Laws and Department of Trade and Industry Services. The seminar started with the opening message from Ms. Lilibeth R. Chavez, OIC Provincial Director of DTI-Cavite, followed by the special message from Dr. Fedelyn P. Estrella, Director of Community Outreach and Service Learning Office of LPU-Cavite.

DTI-Cavite was represented by Mr. Arner Olayres, Mr. Renmarc E. Juangco, Mr. John Paulo G. Panerio, and Ms. Arselyn Nepmuceno. They discussed the salient features of the Consumer Act of the Philippines (RA 7394), described the roles of the implementing agencies, underlined the significance of consumer rights and responsibilities, and highlighted the range of services provided by DTI to aid in the implementation of fair trade regulations and assisting MSMEs and would-be entrepreneurs. The seminar concluded with a closing message from Mr. Rexel Amparo, OIC Division Chief of DTI Cavite’s Consumer Protection Division.

This engagement provided knowledge and information to the students of LPU - Cavite in connection to fair trade laws and services offered by DTI to enable businesses and empower consumers.

As part of the celebration of the National Standard's Week, DTI Cavite through its Consumer Protection Division mobilized monitoring teams across various cities and municipalities of Cavite to conduct Product Standards Monitoring. The main purpose of monitoring is to validate whether products under DTI mandatory certification offered for sale by business establishments have a valid Product Standard (PS) license/mark and Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) certificate/sticker.

Under DAO 02:2007, it is prohibited to sell, distribute or offer any product covered by Philippine Standard Certification Mark Schemes which does not conform to the required and applicable Philippine National Standards (PNS) quality or safety standards.

On October 2, 2025, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)–Cavite, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Ternate, conducted a seminar entitled “Financial Solutions for MSME Growth and Sustainability” at the 2nd Floor, Mardicas Hall, Poblacion II, Ternate, Cavite.

The session featured resource speakers from Small Business Corporation (SBCorp), Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) – Naic Branch, and MERALCO, with the participation of the Negosyo Center Business Counselor (NCBC).

BPI discussed its Ka-Negosyo Loan Program aimed at supporting entrepreneurs in business expansion and shared insights on Cash Management Services to help MSMEs manage daily financial operations more effectively. SBCorp presented the various financing programs available for micro, small, and medium enterprises, along with a clear outline of the requirements for loan applications. MERALCO also shared topics on Understanding Your Bill, My Meralco App, Energy Efficiency Solutions, MPioneer, and Meralco Bayad Online, which guided participants in optimizing energy use and accessing digital services conveniently.

Through this activity, DTI Cavite provided MSMEs with valuable knowledge and access to practical financial and energy management tools that can help them sustain operations, lower costs, and expand their business opportunities.

On October 3, 2025, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)–Cavite, in collaboration with the Office of the Provincial Cooperatives Development Officer (OPCDO), successfully conducted the 2025 OTOP Next Gen Final Prototype Presentation and Culminating Activity at D’ Banquet Bakeshop and Restaurant, Tagaytay City, Cavite.

The Final Prototype Presentation served as a formal platform for participating 2025 OTOPreneurs to unveil and showcase their newly developed and enhanced product designs, representing the culmination of months of product development, technical assistance, and mentoring facilitated by DTI and partner institutions.

Through this activity, DTI Cavite strengthened its commitment in nurturing MSME innovation and creativity. The initiative also allowed local entrepreneurs to gain greater confidence in product design, improve their market readiness, and enhance competitiveness through innovation and branding support.

In celebration of Consumer Welfare Month (CWM) 2025, the Department of Trade and Industry – Cavite Provincial Office (DTI-Cavite), in partnership with the Cavite Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (Cavite PDRRMO), successfully held a Webinar on Disaster Preparedness earlier today, October 9, 2025, via Zoom and Facebook Live.

The program opened with a warm welcome from Ms. Lilibeth R. Chavez, OIC-Provincial Director of DTI-Cavite, and by a message of support from Ms. Eloisa G. Rozul, EnP, PhD, Department Head of Cavite PDRRMO. Both highlighting the importance of equipping consumers and the general public with essential knowledge and practical tips on disaster preparedness and risk reduction.

The webinar featured insightful presentations from Mr. Ronito S. Hina and Ms. Evangeline A. Pescasio, both from the Administrative and Training Division of Cavite PDRRMO. They shared their expertise on Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) 101, along with best practices and practical preparedness tips for various types of emergencies.

After the discussions, an engaging Q&A session followed, allowing participants to raise concerns and clarify key points. The activity concluded with a closing message from Mr. Rexel B. Amparo, OIC-Division Chief of the Consumer Protection Division, DTI-Cavite.

𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞+ 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐌𝐒𝐌𝐄𝐬

On October 3, 2025, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)–Cavite welcomed Ms. Jane Imai, Senior Program Manager for International Services – Asia, and Mr. Vner Valerio, Philippine Representative of Catalyste+, during their field visit to local MSMEs in Cavite.

The visit began at Delfas Food Products in Alfonso, Cavite, where the team learned about the enterprise’s range of delicacies and observed its production process. The discussion highlighted how continued support and capacity-building initiatives from Catalyste+ and DTI have strengthened Delfas’ operations, product quality, and market reach.

The group then proceeded to Balai TIKME in San Agustin, Magallanes, where TIKME members presented their innovative products and shared their key accomplishments for the year. They also showcased the different products created using the machines provided by Catalyste+, which have helped enhance productivity and efficiency among the members.

Through this initiative, DTI Cavite and Catalyste+ continues to play a vital role in helping local enterprises strengthen their capabilities, reserve and promote local products, and expand their opportunities for growth.
