Learning Safety Skills Through DRRM and First Aid Activities

As part of the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2026 celebration with the theme “Naghahanda at Kumikilos Tungo sa Panatag na Bagong Pilipinas,” Velasco Elementary School learners actively participated in the DRRM Equipment Exhibit and First Aid Demonstration.

The activity gave learners the chance to become familiar with different DRRM equipment and understand their importance during emergencies. They also learned basic first aid skills, including the proper response to choking and nose bleeding incidents, helping them become more prepared and confident in responding to situations that may require immediate action.

With the support and guidance of the School Head, DRRM Coordinator, and teachers, the activity continues to strengthen the culture of safety, preparedness, and resilience among VES learners.

| 7 Reasons. 1 Healthy Future.

Every parent dreams of seeing their child grow up healthy, strong, and ready to reach their full potential. Sometimes, the biggest protection comes from the simplest acts of care.

Deworming is one of those simple but important steps. By protecting children from intestinal worms, we help them absorb the nutrients they need, support healthy growth, improve their ability to learn, and build a stronger foundation for a healthier future.

For nearly three decades, Albendazole has been safely used in the Philippines and is recommended by the World Health Organization as a safe and effective medicine for preventing and treating intestinal worm infections when given appropriately.

As parents and caregivers, your questions and concerns matter. Every health event is taken seriously, and protecting the health and safety of every Filipino child remains our highest priority.

Together, let us continue making informed choices based on facts, compassion, and care - because every child deserves the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive.

Choose protection. Choose health. Choose a healthier future for every child.

VES ignites Intramurals 2026 with Spirit and Sportsmanship!

VELASCO, Tayum, Abra—The school grounds came alive with cheers, excitement, and school spirit as Velasco Elementary School officially opened its Intramurals 2026 on July 18, 2026, bringing together learners, teachers, parents, and guests for a day filled with fun, friendly competition, and camaraderie.

The opening program highlighted the energetic presentation of the competing teams—the Blazing Red Phoenix and the Valiant Green Griffin—as they showcased their yells, chants, and team spirit, drawing loud applause from the crowd. The ceremony also featured inspirational messages, the athletes' oath, and the official opening of the games led by School Sports Officer Sir Melvin A. Bigornia, who encouraged all participants to compete with discipline, respect, and true sportsmanship.

The excitement continued as learners competed in various team and individual sporting events, giving their best in every match while demonstrating teamwork, determination, and resilience. The campus echoed with cheers as classmates and teachers rallied behind their teams.

Adding to the celebration, Key Stage 1 learners enjoyed a variety of exciting parlor games, filling the day with laughter, smiles, and unforgettable moments for the youngest participants.

More than a showcase of athletic talent, Intramurals 2026 celebrates unity, friendship, and the true essence of sportsmanship—proving that at VES, every learner has the chance to shine both in competition and in character.

Velasco Elementary School Encourages Healthy Smiles Through Daily Toothbrushing

A healthy smile begins with a healthy habit!

As part of the 52nd National Nutrition Month Celebration, the learners of Velasco Elementary School joined a toothbrushing activity to practice proper oral hygiene and learn the importance of taking care of their teeth.

With bright smiles and eager hearts, our learners followed the proper way of brushing their teeth, showing that even simple daily habits can make a big difference in staying healthy and confident.

At Velasco Elementary School, we believe that healthy learners start with healthy habits—one brush, one smile, and one day at a time.
