AIS Launches HEADLINES Journalism Program, Ushering in a New Era of Campus Journalism
AN-ANAAO INTEGRATED SCHOOL | October 19, 2026
An-anaao Integrated School officially launched HEADLINES, its rebranded journalism program, marking a new chapter in the school's commitment to developing young campus journalists and strengthening learners' skills in responsible, accurate, and meaningful journalism.
Formerly known as the e-Journal Program of AIS, HEADLINES was introduced as an enhanced initiative designed to hone learners' excellence in article writing and develop their competence in investigating, news presentation, editing, and storytelling. The rebranding signifies the school's continuing effort to provide more focused and relevant learning opportunities for aspiring campus journalists.
The program was formally introduced by Dr. Eugene P. Millare, Principal III, who presented HEADLINES as a renewed platform for nurturing learners' journalistic abilities and preparing them for the demands of campus journalism. Through this initiative, AIS aims to cultivate critical thinking, effective communication, accuracy, and creativity among learners while encouraging them to become responsible storytellers of their school and community.
Serving as the proponent of the rebranding program, Master Teacher Maribeth M. Tuazon facilitated the first learning session, focusing on Copyreading/Copy-Editing and Headline Writing, one of the contested events in the Schools Press Conference. The session was designed to review and revisit essential principles while updating teachers and learners on the knowledge and skills necessary for the competition.
During the discussion, participants were given an opportunity to strengthen their understanding of the copyreading/ copy-editing process, which plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, consistency, and correctness of journalistic materials. The session also served as a preparatory activity for teachers/coaches and learners who will participate in the upcoming Schools Press Conference.
By revisiting fundamental concepts and reinforcing essential techniques, Tuazon helped equip the participants with a stronger foundation for meeting the demands of the event. The activity underscored the importance of continuous learning, practice, and collaboration in developing competent campus journalists.
The launch of HEADLINES represents more than a change in name. It reflects AIS' renewed commitment to building a dynamic journalism program that empowers learners to investigate issues, verify information, communicate facts responsibly, and tell stories that matter. Through guided discussions, skills enhancement, and competition-oriented training, the program seeks to create opportunities for learners to discover and develop their potential in the field of campus journalism.
As HEADLINES begins its journey, the An-anaao Integrated School community looks forward to nurturing a new generation of young journalists who uphold truth, integrity, fairness, and excellence in every story they tell.
