GNHS Conducts Learners’ Orientation to Promote a Safe, Healthy, and Child-Friendly School Environment
Gaddani National High School (GNHS) successfully conducted its Learners’ Orientation, to prepare students for the opening of classes and strengthen awareness of school policies, student welfare programs, and support services.
The orientation was conducted in two sessions: Grade 7 to Grade 10 learners attended from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., while Grade 11 and Grade 12 learners participated from 9:50 a.m. to 11:50 a.m.
Dr. Josephine Balmaceda, TVI discussed the importance of maintaining a safe, healthy, and protective learning environment. She emphasized that schools should guarantee both the physical and emotional safety of learners. She also highlighted the school's commitment to providing clean drinking water, functional and separate toilet facilities, clinic services, and nutrition programs to ensure that students remain healthy and well-nourished throughout the school year. Dr. Balmaceda stressed that GNHS prioritizes the well-being and positive experiences of every learner.
Mrs. Marneli Dela Cruz, TVI discussed the Child-Friendly School System (CFSS) and the policies that protect learners from various forms of abuse and violence. She explained that the school's child protection policies safeguard students against physical abuse, psychological abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, bullying and cyberbullying as provided under Republic Act No. 10627, as well as discrimination and other forms of violence. She encouraged learners to be vigilant and report any incidents that may threaten their safety and welfare.
Moreover, Mrs. Maria Angelina G. Crispin, MT II, Guidance Designate, discussed the importance of maintaining a peaceful and harmonious school environment. She reminded students to avoid conflicts and practice respect, discipline, and responsible behavior. Mrs. Crispin also explained the role of the Guidance Office in addressing students' concerns and providing assistance to learners facing personal, academic, or social challenges.
The orientation served as an important platform to inform learners about their rights, responsibilities, and the support systems available within the school. Through this activity, GNHS reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and learner-centered environment where every student can thrive and succeed.
