301CDC Conducts Change of Command Ceremony

Camp Tinio, Nueva Ecija — The Headquarters, 301st Community Defense Center, 3rd Regional Community Defense Group, Philippine Army, formally conducted a Change of Command Ceremony at H301CDC, Camp Tinio, Nueva Ecija.

The ceremony formally marked the relinquishment of command by Lieutenant Colonel Ron Michael M. Soriao, outgoing Acting Community Defense Center Director, and the assumption of command by Lieutenant Colonel Ricky B. Macaraeg, incoming Community Defense Center Director. The activity was presided over by Colonel Mario Lito I. Retirva, Group Commander, 3rd Regional Community Defense Group.

The Change of Command Ceremony is a significant military tradition that symbolizes the formal transfer of authority, responsibility, and accountability from one commander to another. It likewise signifies the continuity of leadership and the sustained commitment of the unit toward the accomplishment of its mandated mission.

During his tenure, LTC Soriao demonstrated dedicated leadership, professionalism, and commitment to duty in guiding the personnel of 301CDC in the performance of their respective responsibilities. His contributions to the unit's mission and accomplishments were recognized as he formally relinquished command.

Meanwhile, LTC Macaraeg formally assumed command of 301CDC, signifying the beginning of his leadership and stewardship of the unit. As the new Community Defense Center Director, he is entrusted with the responsibility of sustaining the unit's accomplishments, enhancing its operational readiness, and ensuring the effective implementation of the Philippine Army's reserve force development and community defense programs.

With the successful transition of leadership, 301CDC remains committed to maintaining a high state of readiness and strengthening its capabilities in support of the 3RCDG's mission and the Philippine Army's mandate of building a capable and responsive reserve force for the nation.

303rd Community Defense Center Conducts Change of Command Ceremony

Angeles City, Pampanga — The 303rd Community Defense Center (303CDC) conducted a Change of Command Ceremony on September 6, 2026, at Headquarters 303rd Community Defense Center (H303CDC), Barangay Sto. Cristo, Angeles City, Pampanga.
The ceremony formally marked the relinquishment of command by Lieutenant Colonel Erwin O. Lahot, outgoing CDC Director, and the assumption of command by Lieutenant Colonel Gerrybell P. Porio, incoming CDC Director.

Colonel Mario Lito I. Retirva, Group Commander, 3rd Regional Community Defense Group (3RCDG), presided over the ceremony and emphasized the importance of leadership transition in sustaining the unit’s mission, discipline, and organizational effectiveness.

In his message, Col. Retirva recognized the dedication and accomplishments of Lt. Col. Lahot during his tenure as CDC Director and expressed appreciation for his leadership and commitment to duty. He likewise welcomed Lt. Col. Porio and conveyed his confidence in the latter’s ability to lead the 303CDC in fulfilling its mandate and responsibilities.

Lt. Col. Porio now assumes the leadership of the 303CDC, tasked with steering the Center in accomplishing its mission and strengthening its partnership with stakeholders in support of the Reserve Force Development programs.

The activity concluded with a renewed commitment among the officers, enlisted personnel, and reservists of the 303CDC to remain steadfast in the performance of their duties and in support of the objectives of the 3RCDG and the Philippine Army.

3RCDG CONDUCTS CLOSING CEREMONY OF BCMT CLASS 01-2026 “SINAG-ALAB”

Camp General Servillano Aquino, San Miguel, Tarlac City — September 5, 2026. The 3rd Regional Community Defense Group (3RCDG) conducted the Closing Ceremony of the Basic Citizen Military Training (BCMT) Class 01-2026 “SINAG-ALAB” on September 5, 2026, held at Camp General Servillano Aquino, San Miguel, Tarlac City.

The ceremony was graced by Hon. Estelita M. Aquino, Vice Governor of the Province of Tarlac, who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the significant occasion.

The activity marked the successful completion of the trainees’ military training, signifying their readiness to contribute to the nation’s defense and security efforts as part of the country’s reserve force. The BCMT program is designed to instill discipline, patriotism, leadership, and a strong sense of duty among citizens while developing their basic military knowledge and skills.

In her message, Vice Governor Aquino commended the trainees for their dedication, discipline, and perseverance throughout the training. She likewise emphasized the importance of their role as responsible citizens and future members of the Philippine Army’s reserve component, particularly in times when their service may be needed by the nation.

The 3RCDG, through its continuing conduct of citizen military training programs, remains committed to strengthening the nation’s reserve force by developing disciplined, capable, and patriotic reservists who are prepared to support the Armed Forces of the Philippines in the defense of the nation.

Under 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗡𝗼. 𝟵𝟭𝟲𝟯, tertiary students are required to complete one of the three NSTP components across two semesters: 𝗖𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗰 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗖𝗪𝗧𝗦) for community welfare and development, 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗟𝗧𝗦) for education and literacy, or 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀’ 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝘀 (𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗖) for military leadership, discipline, and preparedness. Each component offers a distinct way for young Filipinos to contribute to their communities and country.

The Reserve Command, Philippine Army recognizes that every path under NSTP can help shape responsible and service-oriented citizens. For those who aspire to develop leadership, discipline, and readiness while answering the call to serve, ROTC offers a meaningful opportunity to take that commitment further. Through training and experience, future cadets can build the foundation needed for national service and pursue a path toward becoming commissioned officers in the Armed Forces of the Philippines Reserve Force.
