Ang paalalang ito ay gabay upang maging inspirasyon ang bawat isa sa pag-abot ng tagumpay. Sa bawat hamon, panatilihin ang pagkakaisa, at sa bawat gawain ay ipamalas ang dedikasyon.

Earlier today, a special meeting was spearheaded by the Project Manager at the SCIC temporary facilities in Brgy. Maamot, San Jose, Tarlac, bringing together technical personnel from the Balog-Balog Multipurpose Project Phase II (BBMP II) and representatives from the contractor, Sta. Clara International Corporation (SCIC). The discussions centered on critical site concerns, most notably the immediate restoration of the access road, which suffered damage due to past weather disturbances and remains impassable to four-wheel vehicles. Resolving this transport hurdle was a primary focus, alongside other urgent matters necessary to keep operations moving forward.

Afterward, a comprehensive site inspection was conducted to evaluate current progress and determine immediate action steps for smooth project implementation. Field activities currently feature diversion and power tunnel blasting, the excavation of blasted materials, shotcreting and installation of SRS, alongside active drilling and grouting in the core trench, as well as the leveling of the dam embankment.

After a week of work-from-home (WFH) arrangements due to the Habagat, the BBMP II Project Manager convened a PMO staff meeting at the NIA-BBMP II Function Hall in Matatalaib, Tarlac City, on August 24, 2026. Division Managers, Section Chiefs, and key personnel gathered for a candid assessment of the project's current status.

Rather than a standard review of achievements, the discussion centered on implementation issues, on-the-ground constraints, and practical solutions. Management reviewed activity statuses across all divisions, focusing on urgent concerns, inter-unit coordination, and actionable steps to maintain momentum despite recent weather disruptions.

Ultimately, the meeting aligned divisions, clarified priorities, and secured workable responses to challenges faced during continued project implementation.

On August 21, 2026, while a holiday usually means resting, progress at the Balog-Balog Multipurpose Project Phase II did not pause for the calendar. BBMP II Division Managers Engr. Jose Shiedel N. Segubience (Construction Management Division) and Engr. Marson S. Bocobo (Engineering Division) spent their break on the ground, leading a thorough inspection of the storage dam, along with appurtenant structures and vital areas affected by the recent southwest monsoon (habagat).

The site visit captured the full scope of active civil works and logistical challenges on-site, featuring heavy equipment and crews hard at work inside the tunnels handling excavation, haulers, critical structural rib installations, and shotcreting. Construction crews are pushing forward with drilling, blasting, and pre-support measures at the diversion and power tunnel outlets to ensure stability against water flow and past weather disturbances. Inspections also covered crucial transit routes impacted by the weather, where road shoulder damage and edge collapses are actively marked with safety cones and caution tape.

Furthermore, Project Management Office officials and technical staff gathered for strategic discussions in the field, ensuring every phase of construction remained tightly coordinated and responsive to current challenges. This underscored an uncompromising commitment to keeping the project moving forward under any circumstances.

Continuing its assessment of requests to include additional families in the BBMP II Project-Affected Families (PAFs) roster, the Technical Working Group (TWG) met on August 18, 2026. The team thoroughly vetted proposals from Sitios Tudek, Dirita, and Tangan-Tangan to ensure every verified family met the required eligibility criteria.

That same day, at the Maamot Resettlement covered court in San Jose, Tarlac, the TWG held a dialogue with the first category of PAFs. The session focused on reaching a consensus regarding the preferred value of the proposed monetization of agroforestry. This consultation gave residents a platform to voice feedback and address livelihood concerns directly with project implementers and allowed the TWG to outline alternative arrangements aligned with the community's economic well-being.

Ultimately, these inclusive steps support the program's primary goal: advancing vital regional infrastructure while protecting the rights and welfare of displaced communities.

Key BBMP II PMO officials attended the meeting, including the Project Manager and Division Managers Engr. Jose Shiedel N. Segubience (CMD) and Engr. Marson S. Bocobo (Engineering). Local government was represented by Maamot Barangay Chairperson Hon. Rosemarie T. Viniegas, Sula Barangay Chairperson Hon. Moises V. Padua, and Atty. Fatima Morales of LGU San Jose. Maamot IPMR Mr. Tolendo L. Capitle, Municipal IPMR Ms. Marilou G. Modelo, and NCIP representative Atty. Sharmaine Valenzuela were also in attendance, ensuring that Indigenous Peoples' perspectives and concerns were addressed. Mr. John Bjorn Enzo N. Basco (MGB), Atty. Bjorn M. Madrid (NIA Central Office Legal Services), and Atty. Kim-Valentino Taguinaldo (ROW and Resettlement Technical Assistant) were present as well.
