Tarlac PPO Director Leads Inspection of Tagumbao Bridge Amidst Continuous Habagat Rains; Passage Restricted to Light Vehicles

GERONA, TARLAC — In response to the continuous rainfall brought by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), Tarlac Police Provincial Office (PPO) Provincial Director, PCOL Harry R Lorenzo III, led an on-site inspection and close monitoring of the Tagumbao Bridge in Brgy. Tagumbao, Gerona, Tarlac, today, August 30, 2026, at 4:00 PM.

Accompanied by PLTCOL Ford Sudaypan, Chief of Police of the Gerona Municipal Police Station (MPS), and local barangay officials, PCOL Lorenzo III evaluated the status of the bridge to ensure public safety. The Tagumbao Bridge is currently the only remaining passable route connecting to Tarlac City in the area, and authorities have strictly limited its use to light vehicles only until further notice.

During the joint inspection, the team carefully assessed the current water levels and river currents. Officials closely monitored the surrounding waterways for any sudden surges or hazardous debris buildup that could compromise the bridge's structural integrity or pose a threat to motorists and nearby residential communities.
