TRAINING ON COCO COIR PROCESSING: A WASTE-TO-WEALTH JOURNEY | BATCH 2
Another batch of learners has taken a step toward transforming coconut waste into meaningful livelihood opportunities!
The Training on Coco Coir Processing: A Waste-to-Wealth Journey โ Batch 2 was successfully conducted on August 26โ28, 2026 at the ATI-RTC XII, Brgy. San Felipe, Tantangan, South Cotabato, with participants coming from Pigkawayan, North Cotabato and Lutayan, Sultan Kudarat.
The training provided participants with practical knowledge and skills on the processing and utilization of coco coir, emphasizing how agricultural by-products can be transformed into useful, innovative, and potentially marketable products.
The discussions were led by Sir Dan Jasper Tan who guided the participants through the different aspects of coco coir processing and its potential for livelihood and enterprise development.
The discussions were complemented by a meaningful hands-on workshop at Apostolโs Techno Demo Farm in Koronadal City, where participants had the opportunity to apply what they had learned. They were warmly welcomed by Engr. Daniel Apostol, whose farm provided the venue for participants to experience the actual process and appreciate the possibilities of coco coir utilization firsthand.
The three-day learning journey concluded with a message from Maโam Marnil Del Monte, MPS II of ATI-RTC XII, encouraging the participants to become channels of knowledge by disseminating and sharing what they have learned from the training with others in their respective communities.
The journey does not end with the trainingโit begins with the sharing of knowledge and the turning of skills into action!
With empowered learners, innovative minds, and abundant local resources, we can continue to turn waste into wealth, skills into livelihoods, and learning into lasting change.
