"๐ฐ๐ ๐๐๐'๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐, ๐๐'๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐." The guiding principle behind the collaboration with DTI, DOLE, and BIR in Tanjay City is to bring its essential services closer to our microentrepreneurs.
During the session, participants received handsโon guidance on business name registration, BMBE online application, consumer rights and responsibilities, general labor standards, occupational safety and health standards, and tax compliance. One participant spoke out about how the BMBE had transformed their business, providing income tax exemption, exemption from minimum wage laws, and access to financing programs designed for enterprises with assets of โฑ3 million or less, excluding land.
Another participant shared how the session illuminated the difference between maternity and paternity leave. Clarifying that maternity leave entitles eligible mothers to 105 days of paid leave (plus extensions for solo parents or in special circumstances), whereas paternity leave grants 7 days of paid leave for married fathers immediately after childbirth.
The resource speakers from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - Shawn Ramirez, Lysa Mae Bayate, and Kayl Banglos - were in attendance. Representing the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) was Ms. Evita Mae Remoroza. For BIR RDO 79, Ms. Emily Paredes, Flora Mae Clata, and Janice Sara were present. Meanwhile, Ms. Louila Cortez represented the Business Permit and Licensing Office of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tanjay City.
