Empowering Communities, Strengthening Agricultural Extension!

The City Agriculture Personnel of Tanjay City spearheaded by our City Agriculturist Mr. Gumersindo A. Sarao, actively participated in the Technical Guidance Session (TGS) on Community Facilitation conducted on September 2–3, 2026 at Kamanggahan Garden Resort, followed by the community-based sessions on September 4–5, 2026 in Brgy. Pal-ew, Tanjay City.

The activity was conducted in partnership with the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) and its dedicated facilitators, led by OIC Center Director of ATI Central Visayas, Mr. Vianney Ojerio.

The sessions provided valuable knowledge, practical insights, and hands-on experience in community facilitation and Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) tools. These strengthened our skills in engaging communities, understanding their needs and priorities, encouraging meaningful participation, and facilitating community-led solutions toward sustainable agricultural development.

As agricultural extension workers, we continue to learn, listen, facilitate, and empower—recognizing that meaningful and sustainable development begins when communities are actively involved in identifying their challenges and creating solutions.

Together, we build knowledge.

Together, we cultivate a more resilient, participatory, and sustainable agricultural future.

Nagbarug kami uban sa matag eskwelahan nga pasalig sa pagpatubo sa pagkaon, pagtukod og kalig-on, ug pag-amuma sa mas lunhaw nga kaugmaon!

NUPAP on the Go: Growing School Gardens in Tanjay City!

The National Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture Program (NUPAP) together with City Agriculture technicians visited schools across Tanjay City! Our mission: to guide schools in starting new gardens and improving existing gardening systems for bountiful harvests and better learning.

Thank you to the wonderful teachers of Ilaud Elementary School, Tanjay Central Elementary School (Opao), and Jacinto Aguilar School (Tugas, Tanjay City) for the warm welcome and great partnership! Together, we sow seeds of food security and sustainability for our learners and community.
