Day 1: Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) Training

The Day 1 Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) Training was conducted on August 24, 2026, at Mandarin Tea Garden, Tandag City, with the participation of the Camp Management Team.

The Day 1 training covered an introduction to CCCM, including its key concepts, roles, and importance in ensuring effective and dignified camp management. The discussion also focused on CCCM humanitarian principles and standards, emphasizing the importance of protection, accountability, coordination, participation, and the delivery of appropriate assistance and services to displaced populations.

A group interactive activities were also conducted for the Camp Management Team to apply CCCM principles in addressing common challenges and situations that may arise in the management and coordination of evacuation or camp.

Mandatory Appearance | RACCO Caraga

Another meaningful day in the pursuit of child welfare and the best interests of the child. 🤍

Conducted a Mandatory Appearance before the Regional Alternative Child Care Office (RACCO) Caraga under the National Authority for Child Care (NACC), together with clients involved in adoption proceedings.

As a social worker, being part of the adoption process means ensuring that every case is handled with care, compassion, confidentiality, and utmost consideration of the child’s welfare.

Grateful for the opportunity to assist families through this important journey toward providing children with safe, loving, and permanent homes. 💚

Responsive Care Program (RCP) for Persons with Disability

The City Government of Tandag, under the leadership of Mayor Roxanne Pimentel, through the CSWDO–PWD Welfare Program, remains deeply committed to ensuring that children with disabilities receive the appropriate assistance, referrals, and opportunities they need to improve their quality of life.

Through our partnership with CURE International’s Tebow CURE Children’s Hospital in Davao City, we are able to connect children with specialized medical services and surgical interventions for various conditions, including cleft lip and palate, plastic and reconstructive concerns, and orthopedic conditions, among others.

This initiative is made possible through the strong collaboration of the City Health Office, respective barangays, families, and our partner healthcare institution. Together, we work to ensure that every child receives not only medical attention, but also the hope of a brighter and more fulfilling future.

For these children, access to proper medical care means more than an operation—it is a chance to live with greater confidence, free from the fear of discrimination, and with renewed hope as they journey through life.

Because every child deserves a chance to smile brightly, dream freely, and live fully.

The City Government of Tandag will continue to take meaningful initiatives for the welfare and protection of children with disabilities.

On August 17, 2026, the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) of Tandag City facilitated the referral of one (1) Child at Risk (CAR) to the DSWD Caraga- Home for Girls in Butuan City.

The referral was made to ensure the child’s temporary safekeeping, protection, and safety, while providing access to appropriate interventions, guidance, and support responsive to the child’s needs.

The CSWDO remains committed to strengthening its child protection and case management services, working closely with partner agencies to ensure that every child is given a safe environment and an opportunity to heal, recover, and move forward.

Because every child deserves protection, care, dignity, and a safe space to grow.

𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖 𝗦𝗔𝗙𝗘𝗧𝗬 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗛 𝗔𝗠𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗔𝗗𝗢𝗥 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗣 👥

On August 14, 2026, the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) served as one of the discussants during the Public Safety Youth Ambassador Workshop: “Building Safer and Smarter Youth” spearheaded by the BJMP Surigao del Sur District Jail, with Senior High School students from Tandag National Science High School as participants.

The CSWDO representative facilitated a discussion on the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act, highlighting the rights and responsibilities of children, as well as appropriate and child-sensitive interventions for children in conflict with the law. The discussion aimed to deepen the participants’ understanding of the law and encourage them to make responsible decisions, understand the consequences of their actions, and recognize the importance of seeking guidance and support when faced with challenging situations.

The activity provided the youth with practical insights that is hope to influence their attitudes, choices, and interactions with others. To encouraged them to become more informed, responsible, and proactive young individuals, capable of contributing to a safer community. 💙
