BAICS Exit Conference I May 21, 2026

The Exit Conference of Provincial Health Office (PHO) was successfully conducted at the Internal Audit Service Office. The meaningful conference was attended by the Provincial Administrator John Vincent C. Pimentel, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Oscar M. De Jesus Jr., and other PHO staff.

We sincerely appreciate the active participation, transparency, and commitment demonstrated by the leadership and staff of the Provincial Health Office-Surigao del Sur in promoting efficient healthcare service delivery and strengthening the quality of services provided to the community.

The IASO personnel attended the three-day seminar entitled “The New Government Procurement Act and Its Implementing Rules and Regulations,” facilitated and conducted by Exquiro Training PH on May 13–15, 2026, at Ardenhills Suites, Quezon City. The seminar aims to strengthen the knowledge and understanding of government personnel regarding the New Government Procurement Act (RA No. 12009) and its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR), particularly on the updated procurement policies, procedures, and guiding principles that promote transparency, efficiency, accountability, and value for money in government transactions.

READ | Official Statement on the Moderation of Activities for the 66th Araw ng Surigao del Sur

In light of the ongoing global crisis affecting energy supply, the need for energy conservation and austerity measures, and the recent national declaration placing the country under a State of National Energy Emergency, the Provincial Government of Surigao del Sur announces the moderation of activities for the 66th Araw ng Surigao del Sur celebration.

Instead of usual grand festivities, the celebration will be observed through a simplified two to three-day program, which includes: (1) a thanksgiving mass, (2) a short commemorative program in honor of our foundation day, and (3) the conduct of mandatory activities as provided by law, such as Republic Act No. 10176 or Arbor Day, through tree planting and other meaningful initiatives.

In place of grand nightly events, resources will be redirected toward essential services, including medical missions, service caravans, and community outreach programs to bring government services closer to our people.

While this decision comes with a heavy heart, the safety, welfare, and well-being of every Surigaonon remain our utmost priority. Even as we celebrate in a simpler way, the spirit of Araw ng Surigao del Sur lives on in our shared resilience, solidarity, and commitment to serve one another. 💚
