Book Spine Poetry Contest

Express your creativity in poem writing and promote your book/print collections by joining the Book Spine Poetry Contest in celebration of the 31st Library and Information Services (LIS) Month 2021 with the theme: Libraries Building Roads: Readers. Opportunities. Advocacies. Development. Sustainability.

Individual and group entries will be accepted and Book Spine Poem must be related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) using a minimum of 5 book titles and a maximum of 10. Please read the complete mechanics and criteria below.

The deadline for submission of entries is on 15 October 2021 and shall be uploaded to the Submission Bin https://bit.ly/3zVWPQa.

Share-A-Book: Book-Based Interactive Storytelling Contest

Open to all Filipino children ages 9-12, the Share-A-Book Contest is solo storytelling that aims to provide an opportunity for children to develop a love for books and reading, thereby enhancing their presentation and communication skills.

Entry must be a storytelling video related to the Sustainable Development Goals and must be told in Filipino. Video entry must not exceed 10 minutes and must be submitted in mp4 format with 480p resolution.

All Junior High School Students are invited to join the Book Face Contest in celebration of the 31st Library and Information Services (LIS) Month 2021 with the theme: Libraries Building Roads: Readers. Opportunities. Advocacies. Development. Sustainability.

The contest aims to showcase the Filipinos' creativity through the use of books as artistic objects, foster the love for reading, and promote the Philippines' print collections.

Individual and group entries will be accepted. Books to be used should be written by Filipino authors or about the Philippines.

Submission of entries and other requirements is on or before 12 November 2021 and shall be uploaded to the Submission Bin https://bit.ly/3zVWPQa with the proper filename format.

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), through its National Committee on Historical Research (NCHR), launched a digital annotated compilation of selected Philippine history primary sources and secondary works last August 31, 2021.

The digital annotated compilation of selected Philippine history primary sources and secondary works, NCCA-NCHR’s response to the remote learning modality in the time of the Pandemic, is a collaborative effort involving the history departments of the Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, Silliman University, and the University of the Philippines Diliman.

The learning material is composed of various readings tackling the Pre-Spanish period; Spanish period: 16th-18th century; 19th century; Philippine Revolution; Philippine-American War; American period; Commonwealth; Japanese occupation; Postwar period: 1946-1972; 1972-1986; and 1986-present.

The digital annotated compilation may be downloaded on the NCCA website after completing a survey.
