DOLE Davao del Norte continues to promote worker welfare by bringing information on the Family Welfare Program (FWP) and the benefits and protections under the Magna Carta of Women closer to workers.

Sa ilalim ng Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat, patuloy na inilalapit ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) ang mga oportunidad sa trabaho sa pamamagitan ng DOLE Trabaho Agad, isang hakbang tungo sa mas mabilis at mas direktang pag-uugnay ng mga jobseeker sa mga oportunidad sa employment.

For Senior High School students, preparing for life after graduation goes beyond choosing a course or finding a job. It also means building the confidence and mindset to navigate the world of work.

This was highlighted by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Davao del Norte Field Office during the 3rd Tagum City Career Expo 2026, held on August 3โ€“4, 2026, in providing career information, government services, and opportunities to participating students.

Representing Provincial Director Sonia M. Delfin, Sr. LEO Jennylyn M. Rosalinda delivered a message of support, encouraging students to make the most of the career information, guidance, and opportunities available through the Expo as they prepare for their future.

Adding to DOLEโ€™s contribution, Sr. LEO Marlito D. Ayala, Section Head of the DOLE Davao del Norte Field Office โ€“ IGACOS Extension, took part in the Career Talk Show, sharing insights on โ€œReady for Whatโ€™s Next: Building a Resilient Career Mindset.โ€ The discussion encouraged students to develop resilience and a mindset that can help them face setbacks, changes, and uncertainties along their chosen career paths.

The two-day event brought together 34 school exhibitors and seven National Government Agencies, allowing students to explore college programs, career paths, government services, and other opportunities after Senior High School.

Spearheaded by the City Public Employment Services and Capability Development Office (CPESCDO) under the City Government of Tagum, the Career Expo aimed to equip students with information and guidance to make informed decisions about their education and careers.

For DOLE Davao del Norte, preparing the future workforce starts early by helping students become informed, resilient, and ready for whatโ€™s next.

For Jason Carl D. Bugas, a WODP Educational Scholarship beneficiary from the University of Mindanao, the support he received from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) meant more than financial assistance.

It gave him the opportunity to continue pursuing his education despite financial challenges and inspired him to work harder toward the future he hopes to build.

โ€œI am truly grateful to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for providing me with the opportunity to be a beneficiary of the Educational Scholarship under the Workersโ€™ Organization Development Program (WODP). This scholarship has been a great help in supporting my education and has given me the opportunity to continue pursuing my goals despite the financial challenges.

I sincerely appreciate the support and assistance extended to me through this program. More than the financial assistance, the scholarship has inspired me to study harder and value the importance of education in building a better future. I am deeply thankful to DOLE and everyone behind the WODP for investing in the education and future of the young people/workers and their families.

I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to Southern Mindanao Federation of Labor (SMFL) for giving me the opportunity to become part of this program. I am especially thankful to my late father, who served as the Davao United Supervisory Union (DUSU) President and did his very best to make this opportunity possible for me before he passed away. I am also deeply grateful to my mother, who continued what my father started and has supported me throughout this journey. Their love, efforts, and sacrifices have been a great source of strength and inspiration for me.

Jason is one of the six college students in the Davao Region granted scholarships by DOLE XI for 2026, and the only WODP scholar from Davao del Norte.

His story is one of the many stories behind DOLE XIโ€™s continuing efforts to support the education and future of workers and their families through the Workersโ€™ Organization Development Program (WODP).
