𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐂

In compliance with the directives of Memorandum Circular No. 114, the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples – Region XI informs the public that, effective March 9, 2026 (Monday), the Regional Office, Provincial Offices and Community Service Centers will implement a four-day on-site workweek (Monday-Thursday).

Under this arrangement, onsite hours will be from Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, while Fridays will be observed as mandatory work-from-home day for NCIP RXI personnel and staff.

To ensure the continued delivery of public service, clients may still reach NCIP Region XI, its Provincial Offices and Community Service Centers through its official online platforms.

The public is advised to schedule their visits and transactions accordingly.

𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀

An Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) session on Republic Act No. 8371, also known as the Indigenous Peoples’ Rights Act (IPRA) of 1997, was successfully conducted by the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Davao del Norte Provincial Office through its Provincial Legal Officer, Atty. Christine G. Angit. The activity gathered Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs) of Brgy. Southern Davao, Panabo City, with the aim to strengthen awareness and deepen understanding of the rights and responsibilities accorded to ICCs/IPs under the law.

The program formally commenced with a warm and inspiring welcome message from Punong Barangay, Hon. Concepcion G. Canatoy, who conveyed the barangay’s steadfast support for initiatives that promote, protect, and uphold the rights and welfare of Indigenous Peoples within the community.

Brgy. Tribal Chieftain Bae Rosa Morales and Brgy. IPMR Bae Alma Dela Peña likewise delivered meaningful messages highlighting the importance of unity, solidarity, and preservation of culture and traditions. Their words underscored the collective commitment of the community to uphold their identity and assert their IP rights for the benefit of present and future generations.

A productive meeting today held at 𝑫𝑶𝑺𝑻 𝑷𝑺𝑻𝑶, 𝑻𝒂𝒈𝒖𝒎 𝑪𝒊𝒕𝒚 with 𝑫𝑶𝑺𝑻 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑺𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑻𝒆𝒄𝒉𝒏𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒚 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆 (𝑷𝑺𝑻𝑶) of 𝑫𝒂𝒗𝒂𝒐 𝒅𝒆𝒍 𝑵𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒆 represented by 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐉𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐝𝐀. 𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚 and 𝑩𝒂𝒆 𝑵𝒆𝒏𝒆 𝑶. 𝑳𝒖𝒂𝒚𝒐𝒏 representing the 𝑾𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏 𝑰𝑷 𝑺𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝑳𝒊𝒎𝒃𝒂𝒂𝒏 𝑨𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 (𝑾𝑰𝑷𝑺𝑳𝑰𝑨) to discuss the proposed 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑯𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒎 𝑾𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒋𝒆𝒄𝒕 of the association and expanded support for local weavers.

The initiative aims to preserve indigenous craftsmanship while providing sustainable livelihood opportunities, empowering IP women through innovation, capacity building, and strengthened partnerships.

𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

IN SOLIDARITY AND SHARED PURPOSE: 𝑵𝑪𝑰𝑷, 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒏𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒔 and 𝑲𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒏 𝑪𝑨𝑫𝑻 𝑹𝒆𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔 from Panabo and Tagum Cities convened today to advance discussions on the Ancestral Domain claims of the Kagan Indigenous Cultural Community. The consultative dialogue was held at 𝑫𝒆𝒍𝒂 𝑷𝒂𝒛 𝑯𝒂𝒍𝒍, 𝑳𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒔𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑩𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝑪𝒂𝒑𝒊𝒕𝒐𝒍 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅, 𝑩𝒓𝒈𝒚. 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒂𝒎, 𝑻𝒂𝒈𝒖𝒎 𝑪𝒊𝒕𝒚, 𝑫𝒂𝒗𝒂𝒐 𝒅𝒆𝒍 𝑵𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒆.

Present to express their full support were City IPMR 𝑯𝒐𝒏. 𝑩𝒂𝒆 𝑴𝒆𝒓𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒂 𝑨𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒓 of Panabo City, City IPMR 𝑯𝒐𝒏. 𝑫𝒂𝒕𝒖 𝑬𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒌 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒛 of Tagum City, and Municipal IPMR of Asuncion, 𝑯𝒐𝒏. 𝑫𝒂𝒕𝒖 𝑫𝒆𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒔 𝑷𝒊𝒍𝒐, reaffirming a collective commitment to protect indigenous peoples rights and strengthen collaborative efforts.

The activity highlights unity, partnership, and a shared responsibility in promoting inclusive development and safeguarding the ancestral domains of Indigenous Peoples.

When brought together, the "28" reveals its deeper meaning. The "2" honors our roots, culture, tradition, and land—the foundation of Indigenous identity. The "8" empowers our communities, sustaining today while enriching the future.

Critically, the "2" cannot stand without the "8," and the "8" cannot flourish without the "2." Roots without growth wither into irrelevance, while futures without roots become empty promises.

Together, they create a powerful metaphor: 28 years of weaving culture into the future, with Indigenous Cultural Communities and Indigenous Peoples at the heart of sustainable progress.

𝑺𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑼𝒔𝒖𝒇𝒓𝒖𝒄𝒕 for the establishment of a relocation site located in Brgy. Sta. Fe, New Corella for families displaced or severely affected by the impacts of the shear line and the trough of a Low-Pressure Area (LPA).

This initiative marks a significant step toward ensuring safe, secured, and sustainable resettlement for the affected communities.
