In support to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s (PBBM) directive to accelerate the development and deployment of locally designed and developed electric vehicles, the DOST, together with Cagayan State University (CSU), Utitco Motors Corporation, and MD Juan Enterprises, convened a partnership meeting to advance the development, manufacturing, and deployment of innovative local e-mobility technologies.

The meeting, led by Engr. Sancho A. Mabborang, DOST Undersecretary for Regional Operations, brought together key officials and technical representatives from DOST-NCR, DOST MIRDC, DOST PCIEERD, CSU, and industry partners to discuss the proposed collaboration, including the further development and deployment of the C-Trike/E-Trike prototype. The collaboration aims to strengthen the connection between research and development, industry expertise, and government support toward developing innovative, sustainable, and locally produced e-mobility solutions.

The parties agreed to commence the deployment of initial units in 2026 and sustain the rollout toward 2027, marking a significant step toward accelerating the adoption of locally developed electric mobility solutions.

This initiative highlights the commitment of DOST and its partners to advance science, technology, innovation, and sustainable transportation for the benefit of communities and the country.
