The 1st RRIBn, 1303 CDC, NCRRCDG proudly welcomed its Battalion Adviser, COL RAFAEL M ALUNAN III PA (RES), during his official visit aimed at assessing the battalionโs operational readiness, strengthening leadership alignment, reinforcing morale and unit cohesion, and providing strategic guidance to further enhance mission effectiveness. Upon arrival, COL ALUNAN was accorded the traditional courtesy salute by LTC LEILANIE F CASA MNSA PA (RES), Battalion Commander, together with the Battalion Key Staff and the Company Commanders.
The battalion briefing was presented by MAJ MA AURORA T CADAY PA (RES), Ex-O highlighted the unitโs organizational overview, personnel strength and status, training accomplishments, operational readiness posture, civil-military operations initiatives, key operational concerns, and strategic direction. The presentation demonstrated the battalionโs continuing commitment to readiness, responsiveness, and service excellence as part of the Army Reserve Force.
A significant part of the engagement centered on COL ALUNANโs advocacy on community resiliency. He discussed the Community Resilience Framework, which he authored, emphasizing the vital principles of situational awareness, adaptability, decisive leadership, community ownership, bayanihan spirit, communication, cooperation, and coordination. His guidance underscored the crucial role of reservists not only as force multipliers in national defense but also as frontline partners in humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations. Following the dialogue and guidance session, COL ALUNAN proceeded to the CDC grounds, where he was briefed on the capabilities and equipment of the battalionโs Alpha Company Search and Rescue Unit. The demonstration featured rescue tools, communications equipment, emergency response assets, and disaster response capabilities utilized during calamities and emergency operations. The activity highlighted the growing capability of the Army Reserve Force to rapidly mobilize and respond during times of crisis, disasters, and national emergencies. It reinforced the importance of maintaining a highly trained, disciplined, and mission-ready reserve unit capable of supporting the Armed Forces of the Philippines and assisting local communities whenever called upon. The engagement also strengthened camaraderie, professionalism, and the shared commitment of officers and enlisted reservists toward service to country and people.
The successful conduct of the Adviserโs visit was made possible through the guidance of COL FERDINAND REY G GA (ART) PA, Group Commander, NCRRCDG, and under the supervision of COL ALVIN S ASPIRAS (ART) PA, 1303 CDC Director.
