Under the leadership of LT HARZEYLL P YNGSON PCG, the Maritime Security Law Enforcement Group โ€“ Western Visayas (MARSLEG-WV) was named MARSLEG of the Year by the Maritime Security Law Enforcement Command (MARSLEC) in recognition of its outstanding operational performance across the region.

Throughout its area of responsibility, the unit demonstrated a steadfast commitment to safeguarding local waters and communities. MARSLEG-WV spearheaded aggressive anti-Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated Fishing (IUUF) patrols, led critical forest product interdictions, executed outstanding warrants, and provided swift, decisive responses to bomb threats.

Central to these operational successes was the unit's emphasis on joint security operations. MARSLEG-WV actively bolstered inter-agency partnerships alongside the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).

Beyond routine maritime law enforcement and environmental protection, the group proved essential to regional stability and humanitarian efforts. MARSLEG-WV delivered crucial security coverage during high-profile gatherings, including the Dinagyang Festival, and mobilized immediate disaster relief operations in the wake of Tropical Storm Tino.โฉ
