Not even a power outage could dim the ๐ผ๐ฝ๐ป๐ฎ๐ท๐ฐ๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐ช๐ท๐ญ ๐ป๐ฎ๐ผ๐ฒ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ท๐ฌ๐ฎ of the women of Kapangan, Benguet. โจ๐ช
On May 14, 2026, the Department of Science and Technology โ Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) successfully conducted โ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ค: ๐ธ โ๐ ๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ฅ๐ชโ๐น๐๐ค๐๐ ๐๐ฆ๐ฅ๐ฃ๐๐๐๐ โ๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ฃ ๐ฅ๐๐ โ๐ฃ๐๐ง๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐ฆ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ก๐๐๐๐๐, ๐น๐๐๐๐ฆ๐๐ฅ, โ๐ ๐ฃ๐๐๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ธ๐๐๐๐๐๐ค๐ฅ๐ฃ๐๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ โ๐๐๐๐ ๐โ at the Evacuation Center Building, 3rd Floor, Kapangan, Benguet.
The meaningful event gathered women from different barangays and age groups in Kapangan, many of whom are educators, united in promoting awareness, empowerment, and protection against sexual violence.
The program formally opened through the introduction led by GAD Secretariat ๐๐ฌ. ๐๐จ๐๐ง๐ง๐ ๐๐๐๐ซ๐๐ซ๐, who connected the unexpected power outage in Kapangan to the very heart of the programโs theme โ โ๐ฟ๐พ๐ฝ๐พ๐ ๐๐ถ ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐โ ๐๐ โ๐ป๐พ๐น๐น๐๐ ๐ฎ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ฝ.โ She emphasized that women, much like the community that day, possess a quiet yet powerful inner strength โ adaptable, resilient, and unwavering even in the face of challenges. Despite the power outage, the participants remained eager to learn, participate, and empower one another. This was followed by inspiring messages from ๐๐ข๐๐ ๐๐๐ฒ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐๐ง๐ญ๐จ๐ฌ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐๐ง and an energizing welcome remarks from SEI GAD FPS Chairperson ๐๐ฌ. ๐๐ฒ๐ง๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐.

One of the most heartfelt moments of the program was the pledge of commitment, where participants expressed their promise to stand against sexual violence and help promote safer and more empowered communities for women.
