PROPELing Innovation and Partnerships at RSTW 2026

Project PROPEL joins the Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW) 2026, happening on August 17–19, 2026, at La Marieta Events Place, Odiongan, Romblon, under the theme “EMPOWER MIMAROPA.”

As the region comes together to showcase innovations and strengthen partnerships for sustainable development, PROPEL contributes to this shared STI agenda by bringing its innovation closer to stakeholders and communities.

Featured in the PROPEL exhibit is JuanaKNOW, an AI-powered knowledge and innovation assistant that helps innovators navigate the path from ideation to product development and market readiness. By making DOST knowledge and resources more accessible, JuanaKNOW provides practical guidance on technology, markets, funding, intellectual property, and other considerations that can help turn promising ideas into viable solutions.

Through its RSTW participation, PROPEL showcases how innovation, knowledge, and technology can work together to empower innovators and create meaningful opportunities for communities.

📣 ADVISORY | EXTENSION OF SUBMISSION DEADLINE 📣
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) wish to inform all State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs), and Private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) that the deadline for the CHED–DOST Call for Innovations has been extended.
This extension provides higher education institutions with additional time to prepare and submit their breakthrough, science-based technologies and innovations in the following priority areas:
🔬 Advanced Electronics & Semiconductor Systems
🌾 Agri-Food & Blue Economy
💊 Biopharma & Health Technologies
Selected technologies will undergo curation and will be showcased at the CHED–DOST Innovations Summit in September 2026, to be hosted by Batangas State University – The National Engineering University. Outstanding innovations may also be considered for participation in high-level international engagements and global innovation platforms, including activities held alongside the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Program 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐋 continued its engagement at the 𝑹𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑺𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆, 𝑻𝒆𝒄𝒉𝒏𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒚, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑰𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑾𝒆𝒆𝒌 (𝑹𝑺𝑻𝑾) 𝑽𝑰𝑰 held at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, strengthening collaborations with innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers, government agencies, industry partners, and members of the regional innovation ecosystem.

Throughout the succeeding activities, the team engaged with stakeholders to promote technology commercialization, innovation-driven entrepreneurship, and opportunities for translating research into impactful, market-ready solutions. The event provided an avenue to exchange insights, build strategic partnerships, and further advance initiatives that support the growth of science, technology, and innovation across the regions.

🚀 Strengthening Alignment, Accelerating Impact!

PROPEL continues to advance its implementation efforts through the Components Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and Strategic Alignment Workshop held on 30 June to 01 July 2026 at PCAARRD Innovation and Technology Center, Los Banos Laguna.

The two day workshop brought together component teams to review project accomplishments, assess implementation progress, discuss challenges, and recalibrate deliverables and targets toward a more responsive and aligned implementation strategy.

Through collaborative discussions and strategic planning sessions, the activity strengthened convergence among components and supported the development of a consolidated implementation workplace geared toward achieving the desired outcomes of Program PROPEL.

As the program moves forward, the workshop outputs will contribute to a more cohesive implementation framework and a consolidated workplan aimed at accelerating technology commercialization, innovation support, and market expansion initiatives.
