The Youth X Health Run continued beyond the finish line as more than 600 young participants visited 10 health booths at the Lakeshore Activity Center on Sunday, September 6, to learn more about wellness and health issues affecting the youth.
The activity, held as part of Linggo ng Kabataan 2026, was led by the Local Youth Development Office in partnership with the City Health Office and City Nutrition Office.
After completing the run, participants received booklets that gave them access to the different booths. They earned tokens by completing activities while receiving practical information, guidance, and health resources from City personnel.
The booths covered To***co and V**e Control; Substance Use Prevention and Treatment; Road Safety and Alcohol Harms Prevention; Womenβs Health; Adolescent Health and Development; Mental Health; Nutrition; STI, HIV and AIDS Prevention and Control; Blood Health; and Primary Eye Care.
Through interactive activities, participants learned about healthy lifestyle choices, mental and adolescent health, HIV and STI prevention, substance use, smoking, and other health risks.
Mayor Lani Cayetano said giving young people access to reliable health information can help them prepare for future challenges and opportunities:
For Ann Lorraine Aguilar, 24, of Barangay North Daanghari, the Primary Eye Care booth was among the most meaningful parts of the activity:
