The 3RCDG Completes BCMT Class 01-2026 “SINAG-ALAB”

The 3rd Regional Community Defense Group (3RCDG) successfully conducted the Closing Ceremony of Basic Citizen Military Training (BCMT) Class 01-2026 “SINAG-ALAB” on September 5, 2026, at Camp General Servillano Aquino, San Miguel, Tarlac City.

Hon. Estelita M. Aquino, Vice Governor of the Province of Tarlac, served as Guest of Honor and Speaker. In her message, she commended the trainees for their dedication, discipline, and perseverance throughout the training and encouraged them to embrace their responsibility as citizens and future members of the Philippine Army’s reserve component.

The completion of the BCMT program marks the trainees’ readiness to support the nation’s defense and security efforts as part of the reserve force. The training equipped them with basic military knowledge and skills while strengthening the values of discipline, patriotism, leadership, and service.

Through the continuing conduct of citizen military training programs, the 3RCDG remains committed to building a disciplined, capable, patriotic, and mobilizable reserve force ready to support the Armed Forces of the Philippines when needed.

The successful culmination of BCMT Class 01-2026 “SINAG-ALAB” highlights the strong partnership among the Philippine Army, local government units, and the Filipino people in strengthening the country’s reserve force and advancing the shared commitment to serve and defend the nation.

The 603rd Brigade Deploys Troops for 1st BARMM Parliamentary Election

The 603rd Infantry “Persuader” Brigade, led by Colonel Glenn Loreto T. Caballero, Acting Brigade Commander, held a send-off ceremony for its personnel who will support the security of the 1st BARMM Parliamentary Election at the Brigade Headquarters in Brgy. Milbuk, Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat.

On the same day, the 105th Infantry “Saifullah” Battalion, led by Lieutenant Colonel Erikzen C. Dacoco, Commanding Officer, conducted a separate send-off ceremony at its headquarters in Sitio Tampuan, Brgy. Kamanga, Maasim, Sarangani Province.

The deployment underscores the Brigade’s commitment to ensuring a safe, secure, and peaceful environment for voters, election personnel, and other stakeholders. Deployed troops will coordinate with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Philippine National Police (PNP), and other concerned agencies in carrying out their mandated election-security duties.

Colonel Caballero urged the troops to remain professional, disciplined, impartial, and respectful of the electoral process, emphasizing the importance of integrity in serving the people.

“Our responsibility is to help provide a safe and secure environment where every voter can exercise their right to vote freely and without fear. Let us remain professional, disciplined, and impartial, and uphold the trust and confidence of the people we serve,” Colonel Caballero said.

The 603rd Brigade also called on communities and all election stakeholders to cooperate with authorities and contribute to the peaceful, orderly, and successful conduct of the 1st BARMM Parliamentary Election.

Two Caliber .45 Pistols Voluntarily Turned Over in Sulu, Advancing Gun-Free Peace Efforts

Sustained peace and security engagements by the 21st Infantry “Invincible” Battalion (21IB) and 101st Infantry “Sajahitra” Battalion (101IB) led to the voluntary handover of two Caliber .45 pistols by three individuals in Kalingalan Caluang, Sulu.

The three individuals voluntarily presented themselves to government troops and surrendered the fi****ms during an activity witnessed by representatives of the Barangay Local Government Unit of Barangay Pang and the Municipal Government of Kalingalan Caluang, ensuring proper documentation, accountability, and transparency.

Lt. Col. Ronald A. Borras, Commanding Officer of the 21IB, attributed the peaceful handover to sustained coordination, dialogue, and community engagement conducted by the two Army units with the support of local stakeholders. He said every firearm voluntarily surrendered helps reduce the risk of violence and contributes to safer communities.

Meanwhile, Lt. Col. Dante E. Mantes, Commanding Officer of the 101IB, emphasized that close cooperation among the Army, local government units, the PNP, community leaders, and residents remains vital in sustaining peace and resolving community concerns through peaceful means.

The turnover supports the Rido and Gun-Free, Peace and Conflict-Resilient Communities (RFGFPCC) Campaign of the 1102nd Infantry “Ganarul” Brigade, which promotes an LGU-led, security sector-supported, and community-based approach to reducing loose fi****ms, peacefully addressing local conflicts, and strengthening conflict-resilient communities.

Brig. Gen. Alaric Avelino P. Delos Santos, Commander of the 1102nd Infantry “Ganarul” Brigade, commended the 21IB and 101IB for their joint efforts and thanked the LGUs, PNP, community leaders, and the individuals who supported the peaceful handover.

He emphasized that the surrender of the fi****ms reflects growing trust and cooperation among government forces, local governments, law enforcement agencies, and communities toward a shared responsibility for peace.

Pandami LGU Turns Over Three Fi****ms, Strengthens Commitment to Peace and Security

The Municipal Government of Pandami strengthened its commitment to sustaining peace and keeping communities free from loose fi****ms as Mayor Nurhan S. Berto voluntarily turned over three fi****ms to government security forces during a ceremony at the Municipal Hall in Barangay Hambilan, Pandami, Sulu.

The turnover forms part of the municipality’s continuing implementation of the Rido-Free, Gun-Free, and Peace-Centered Community (RFGFPCC) Campaign, following Pandami’s declaration as a Rido-Free, Gun-Free, and Peace-Centered Community and its status as a State of Stable Internal Peace and Security (SIPS).

Mayor Berto surrendered one Caliber .50 firearm, one M1918 Browning, and one FN FAL rifle. Personnel from the 104th Infantry “Para sa Bayan” Battalion (104IB) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) formally received the fi****ms.

With the latest turnover, Pandami has surrendered a total of 22 assorted fi****ms since January 1, 2026. These include one crew-served weapon, 15 high-powered fi****ms, and six low-powered fi****ms. The continuing surrender reflects the LGU’s efforts to reduce the presence of loose fi****ms and prevent their use in armed conflicts, particularly rido or family feuds.

Lt. Col. Roy R. Dalumpines, Commanding Officer of the 104IB, commended Mayor Berto and the Pandami LGU for taking concrete steps to protect the municipality’s peace gains. He emphasized that sustaining peace requires the active participation of local governments, security forces, and communities.

Meanwhile, Brig. Gen. Alaric Avelino P. Delos Santos, Commander of the 1102nd Infantry “Ganarul” Brigade, said Pandami’s continuing initiative demonstrates the effectiveness of an LGU-led, security sector-supported, and community-based approach to peace and security.

He stressed that every firearm voluntarily removed from communities helps reduce the potential for violence and strengthens public confidence in resolving disputes through dialogue and the rule of law.

The 1102nd Infantry “Ganarul” Brigade, through the 104IB and in partnership with the LGUs, PNP, and other stakeholders, will continue supporting the RFGFPCC Campaign to protect peace gains and build safer, more peaceful, and resilient communities across Sulu.

1101st Infantry Brigade Strengthens Election Readiness Through 16-Kilometer GagandiLAKAD

Taking another step toward greater operational readiness, the 1101st Infantry (Gagandilan) Brigade, Philippine Army, led by its Commander, Brigadier General Frederick M. Sales, conducted the 16-kilometer “GagandiLAKAD: Simultaneous Walk 2026” on September 3, 2026, in preparation for the upcoming Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Elections.

The Brigade simultaneously carried out the activity through its line units—the 18th Infantry Battalion, 32nd Infantry Battalion, 45th Infantry Battalion, and 6th Special Forces Battalion—within their respective areas of responsibility in Basilan.

More than a physical fitness activity, GagandiLAKAD 2026 strengthened the soldiers’ physical endurance, mental resilience, discipline, teamwork, camaraderie, and operational preparedness. The activity challenged personnel to remain physically capable and mentally alert as they prepare to perform their duties in support of a peaceful, orderly, credible, and secure electoral process.

BGen Sales emphasized that military readiness begins with disciplined and resilient personnel. He underscored the importance of maintaining a healthy body, a strong mind, and a steadfast commitment to serving the people, particularly as the Brigade prepares for its role in the upcoming electoral exercise.

The simultaneous conduct of the activity across Basilan demonstrated the Brigade’s collective commitment to maintaining a high state of preparedness. From the Brigade Headquarters to its battalions operating in different parts of the province, the Gagandilan Warriors moved with one purpose: to strengthen their capabilities and uphold their responsibility to protect and serve the Basileños.

As the BARMM Parliamentary Elections draw closer, the 1101st Infantry (Gagandilan) Brigade remains committed to supporting government efforts toward a peaceful, orderly, credible, and secure election, while continuing to serve the people of Basilan with professionalism, discipline, and dedication.

Troops Recover Arms Cache in Cantilan, Surigao del Sur

Troops of the 30th Infantry (Fight On) Battalion, 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, Philippine Army, recovered an arms cache in the vicinity of Signalnan, Sitio Katarugan, Barangay Lobo, Cantilan, Surigao del Sur, on September 3, 2026.

The troops recovered one M14 rifle, one M1 Garand rifle, five 20-round detachable box magazines, 32 rounds of .30 caliber ammunition, and 89 rounds of 7.62x51mm ammunition.

The recovery supports the Philippine Army’s continuing efforts to prevent the resurgence of armed conflict and protect communities in previously affected areas.

Lt. Col. Rey Vergel A. Annogui, Commanding Officer of the 30IB, said the operation demonstrates the troops’ commitment to protecting communities and sustaining peace in their area of responsibility.

“We will continue to pursue every effort to prevent these weapons from being used to threaten our people and disrupt the peace. We likewise call on our communities to remain vigilant and continue working with us in building a safer, more peaceful, and progressive Surigao,” LTC Annogui said.

Meanwhile, 4ID Commander Maj. Gen. Marion T. Angcao commended the 30IB troops for the accomplishment. He emphasized that the recovery strengthens the Division’s efforts to maintain peace and security across its area of responsibility.

Maj. Gen. Angcao also underscored the need for sustained vigilance and close coordination among the military, local government units, communities, and other stakeholders to prevent Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) from regaining access to fi****ms and disrupting peace in the Caraga Region.

Civilian Turns Over M1 Garand, Strengthening Peace Efforts in Kalingalan Caluang

A civilian voluntarily surrendered an M1 Garand rifle to troops of the 21st Infantry “Invincible” Battalion (21IB) in Barangay Pang, Kalingalan Caluang, on September 3, 2026, supporting the ongoing Rido-Free, Gun-Free, and Peace-Centered Communities (RFGFPCC) Campaign.

At around 2:00 p.m., personnel from Alpha Company, 21IB, led by 1Lt. Tom Troy B. Tanzo, facilitated the peaceful hand-over of the high-powered firearm.

Lt. Col. Ronald Borras, Commanding Officer of the 21IB, credited the successful hand-over to the unit’s sustained community engagement and close coordination with municipal and barangay local government officials. He said the voluntary surrender reflects the community’s growing trust and cooperation in efforts to prevent armed violence and sustain peace.

The 21IB placed the firearm under the custody of Alpha Company for proper safekeeping and disposition.

Brig. Gen. Alaric Avelino P.
