Due to the prevailing Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), which is expected to bring heavy rains in Metro Manila, in-person classes and school activities at all levels in both public and private schools in Taguig City are suspended today, Saturday, September 5, 2026.

All affected classes shall shift to modular or other alternative learning modalities.

Everyone is advised to remain alert and continue monitoring weather updates and official announcements from the City of Taguig.

Weather System: Southwest Monsoon (Habagat)
Issued at 8:00 AM, 4 September 2026 (Friday)

Metro Manila, including Taguig City, remains under Yellow Heavy Rainfall Warning. Light rains were experienced across the city over the past few hours, while moderate to at times heavy rains may occur and persist over the next two to three hours.

𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐬:

Some low-lying areas may start to see minor ponding or shallow flooding, especially if drainage is poor.

Traffic might move slower than usual during downpours.

Wet and slick roads could make driving or walking more hazardous.

𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐲:

Extra caution is necessary in flood-prone areas and along roads that tend to collect water during downpours.

Reduced visibility and slippery road surfaces may affect travel conditions.

Pedestrian routes may become hazardous due to pooling water or uneven pavement.

Appropriate rain gear and non-slip footwear are recommended when outdoors.

As of the latest available data, Tropical Cyclone (PILANDOK) maintains its strength as it moves slowly northwestward over the sea east of extreme northern Luzon. It is forecast to move generally west-northwestward tomorrow before turning generally northwestward in the following days, while remaining far from the Philippine landmass. It is unlikely to make landfall or directly affect the country. However, its circulation may contribute to the enhancement of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat). Further intensification is not expected, and it will eventually weaken into a low pressure area.

Meanwhile, another low-pressure area (LPA 08L) is being monitored outside the PAR with a MEDIUM chance of developing into a tropical depression. LPA 08K, formerly “SAUDEL,” also remains outside the PAR with a MEDIUM chance of redeveloping into a tropical depression.

At present, no Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal is expected to be raised over Metro Manila. As of 5:00 PM, the city has been downscaled from Red Heavy Rainfall Warning to Orange Heavy Rainfall Warning. Light to moderate rains, occasionally becoming heavy, may occur and may persist within the next two to three hours.

Over the next 12 hours, the city may still experience cloudy to overcast skies with intermittent light to moderate rains, occasionally becoming heavy, due to the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).
