FILVETS Supports No. 19 PRAI Party List
The Filipino War Veterans Foundation Inc. (FILVETS) supports No. 19 PRAI (Police Retirees Association Inc.) party list in the coming 09 May 2022 national election. FILVETS is headed by Chairman PLtGen Reynaldo V Velasco PNP (Ret), who is PRAI 1st nominee. PRAI have been supporting FILVETS to provide assistance for veterans and dependents, especially in medical health care and technical-vocational education. Recently, PRAI largely contributed for the repair and renovation of Automotive Shop for use of scholars taking up Automotive Servicing Course at FILVETS Skills Training Center (FSTC). Early on, FILVETS and PRAI signed a MOA for retired policemen and dependents to take up technical-vocational courses on scholarship basis at FSTC. This is in line with the education advocacy of FILVETS and PRAI to provide knowledge and skills to veterans, retired soldiers and police retirees and dependents, respectively, aimed to earn additional family income. The courses at FSTC provide for competitive edge in seeking employment, establish livelihood business or develop talents /hobbies during retirement. In medical health care PRAI have been supportive in providing COVID 19 Kits to veterans and dependents during the pandemic.
FILVETS and PRAI are both charitable institutions that have been continuously working to help improve the lives of beneficiaries for many years already but their efforts remained inadequate to address the needed assistance and services. It is along this line that to join the political arena to have a representative in Congress was thought of so that advocacies and concerns are addressed and resolved for the benefit of uniformed retirees not only for veterans, retired soldiers and policemen but also retired coast guards, jail guards and firemen retirees. Hence, it is high time to support No.19 PRAI party list.
Nominees of No.19 PRAI party list are all veterans aside from being PNP retirees, with PLtGen Reynaldo V Velasco PNP (Ret), heading the list who was PRAI Co-Founder in 2001, having served with the AFP for many years before joining the PNP in 1986 until retirement in 2005, with namely ; BGen Van Luspo PNP (Ret) and MGen Leo Napenas PNP (Ret), They are sympathetic to the cause of veterans having experienced the struggles and hardships of soldiers. Full of vision and energy with the commitment to work for the welfare of former comrades in arms, expressed in their advocacies termed HELP (Health & Housing, Education & Environment, Livelihood & Legal Assistance and Pension), FILVETS endorses to veterans, retired military and uniformed personnel and also those in active duty who will eventually become retirees, to support No. 19 PRAI party list come election day.
