| 2026 Caraga Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week

The 2026 Caraga Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) brings science, technology, and innovation closer to the people as DOST Caraga gathers stakeholders from government, academe, industry, MSMEs, research institutions, and communities on August 27-29, 2026, in Butuan City.

With the theme “Siyensya, Teknolohiya at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na Kinabukasan” and the sub-theme “Science, Technology, and Digital Innovation: Driving Food Security, Sustainable Energy, and National Resilience,” the celebration highlights solutions that respond to the region’s needs and create new opportunities for Caraganons.

From technology exhibits and innovation showcases to forums, competitions, demonstrations, project visits, and the RSTW Food Expo, participants get a closer look at innovations in agriculture, food, energy, disaster resilience, digital technology, and entrepreneurship.

Through initiatives such as the MIRACLE Shared Facility and DOST Food Innovation Center, the RSTW demonstrates how science-based solutions can move beyond the laboratory and into communities, enterprises, and everyday life.

Anchored on Human Well-being, Wealth Creation, Wealth Protection, and Sustainability, the celebration continues to build a more resilient, sustainable, and future-ready Caraga Region through science, technology, and innovation.

: DOST-STII is looking for a SCIENCE RESEARCH SPECIALIST II (Permanent) with a monthly rate of PHP 45,694.00 (Salary Grade 16).

The position comes with mandatory allowances, including but not limited to Subsistence Allowance and Laundry Allowance (SALA), Personal Economic Relief Allowance (PERA), and other benefits provided by law, such as those under the Magna Carta for Scientists, Engineers, Researchers, and other S&T Personnel in the Government (RA 8439).

| Baking up success and empowering enterprises at RSTW Bicol! 🚀🥧

Earlier today, August 20, DOST officials led by Sec. Renato U. Solidum Jr. and Usec. Sancho A. Mabborang, together with DOST-Bicol Regional Director Rommel R. Serrano and DOST-Camarines Norte Provincial Director Hermogenes Miguel G. Pormento, visited several enterprises in Camarines Norte to witness firsthand how science and technology are transforming local MSMEs.

AML Food Products (Labo): From a family tradition to a growing pastry enterprise! With DOST-SETUP's equipment upgrades, they boosted their famous cassava cake production. Now, they are gearing up for Industry 4.0 via the DOST CUATRO Program.

Digitrend Services (Daet): Witnessing technology and service upgrades in action.

RSTW Exhibits (SM City Daet): A walkthrough of the ongoing regional technology and innovation exhibits.

Partnership Lunch (Talisay): The regional visits were capped off with a productive lunch hosted by Camarines Norte Gov. Ricarte "D**g" Padilla.

| Highlighting science, technology, and local innovation in the Bicol Region! 🚀🍍
Yesterday, August 19, 2026, the 2026 Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) and the Piñavation festival officially opened at the University of Camarines Norte in Daet.

DOST Secretary Dr. Renato U. Solidum Jr. delivered the keynote address, emphasizing how science and digital innovation drive food security, sustainable energy, and national resilience.

The opening day showcased how research directly uplifts communities, featuring initiatives like the Queen Pineapple Research and Development Center (QPRDC) which provides science-based solutions for local farmers. Following the ceremony, the exhibit tour highlighted various breakthrough technologies, including Project SARAI, aimed at supporting the agricultural sector.

To capture these regional milestones, the DOST-STII team was on the ground delivering comprehensive photo documentation from the formal opening ceremonies down to the technology exhibits. 📸

| 2026 MIMAROPA Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week

The Department of Science and Technology–MIMAROPA (DOST-MIMAROPA) brings science, technology, and innovation closer to communities through the 2026 Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW), happening on August 17–19, 2026 across the region’s five provinces, with Romblon serving as the host and central hub.

For the first time, the celebration will be held through a simultaneous multi-island setup, enabling LGUs, schools, MSMEs, researchers, innovators, students, industry partners, and communities to participate in STI activities within their respective provinces.

Carrying the campaign "TARA, pa-MIMAROPA! (Teknolohiya at Agham na Ramdam, Aarangkada pa sa MIMAROPA)," the celebration highlights DOST-MIMAROPA’s commitment to making science, technology, and innovation more accessible while strengthening collaboration toward inclusive and sustainable development.

In Romblon, the celebration features “Discover MIMAROPA," showcasing innovations, technologies, and products from across the region, alongside discussions anchored on DOST's Four Pillars: Wealth Creation, Wealth Protection, Human Well-being, and Sustainability.

The host province will also feature “Safeguard MIMAROPA,” focusing on disaster preparedness and climate change adaptation, and “Grow MIMAROPA,” highlighting enterprise development and innovation support for MSMEs and community-based industries.

Through this region-wide celebration, MIMAROPA continues to demonstrate how science, technology, and innovation can create opportunities, address local challenges, and improve lives across every island community.

| One of the key highlights of the Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) is its series of plenary sessions held at different venues, including the Zamboanga del Norte Sports and Convention Center.

Among these was the Philippine Association for the Advancement of Science, Technology, and Innovation (PhilAASTI) Mindanao Island Seminar, which provided a platform for meaningful discussions on the role of science, technology, and innovation in advancing the blue economy, sustainable trade, and tourism in Mindanao.

The seminar brought together experts, practitioners, members of the academe, industry partners, and students to exchange insights, foster collaboration, and advance inclusive and sustainable regional development.

| Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week 2026

Science, Technology, and Innovation take the spotlight as DOST-IX hosts the Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (ZamPen RSTW 2026) on 12–14 August 2026 at the Zamboanga del Norte Convention and Sports Center, Dipolog City.

Guided by this year’s theme, “Siyensya, Teknolohiya at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa at Panatag na Kinabukasan,” the celebration highlights innovative STI solutions developed and supported by DOST, along with products and technologies created by DOST-assisted micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and communities.

The three-day event also features the launching and turnover of DOST-IX programs and projects, STI summits and conferences, technology trainings, science trivia, and other activities that showcase how innovation can create meaningful opportunities and improve lives.

Through ZamPen RSTW 2026, DOST-IX continues to promote science, technology, and innovation as key drivers toward a stronger, more progressive, and resilient future for the Zamboanga Peninsula.
