The Department of Science and Technology-Science and Technology Information Institute is joining the celebration of We Advocate Time Consciousness and Honesty (W.A.T.C.H.) Month – and this year's theme is all about living out the values of time and honesty: "𝙄𝙨𝙖𝙗𝙪𝙝𝙖𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙖𝙜𝙥𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙜𝙖 𝙨𝙖 𝙊𝙧𝙖𝙨 𝙖𝙩 𝙆𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙣."

| TechShake and Brunei Innovation Lab officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding at LumineLabs, Ortigas Centre, Pasig City marking an important step toward strengthening startup and innovation collaboration between the Philippines and Brunei Darussalam.

Through this partnership, both organizations aim to create a stronger bilateral innovation corridor that will open more opportunities for founders, startups, ecosystem builders, and innovation stakeholders across both countries. The collaboration will focus on ecosystem exchange, market-entry support, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and structured programs that help startups explore new growth opportunities within ASEAN.

More than a ceremonial signing, this MOU represents a shared commitment to building meaningful cross-border connections and supporting the growth of a more collaborative, accessible, and future ready innovation ecosystem in the region.

Ginugunita ang Pambansang mga araw ng watawat ng Pilipinas mula ika-28 ng Mayo hanggang ika-12 ng Hunyo, alinsunod sa Presidential Proclamation No. 374 na inilabas noong 1965 at Executive Order No. 79 noong 1994.

Ang DOST-Science and Technology Information Institute ay nakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng mga araw na ito.

| Seremonya ng pagreretiro ng watawat, isinagawa ng DOST - PTRI nitong ika-26 ng Mayo 2026.

Ayon sa Seksyon 14 ng Republic Act No. 8491, ang mga luma at kupas na watawat ay hindi dapat basta tinatapon. Sa halip, kailangang dumaan ang mga ito sa isang kagalang-galang at maayos na seremonya ng pagsunog bago ilibing sa lupa.

Sa aktibidad ngayong araw, binigyang-diin ang epekto ng modernong watawat na yari sa nylon. Bagama't batas ang pagsunog, ang pagsunog sa sintetiko o plastic na materyal ay nagdudulot ng malaking panganib sa kalikasan.

Bilang pangunahing institusyon sa pananaliksik ng tela, ang DOST-PTRI katuwang ang National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) ay pormal na inilunsad ang kampanya sa pag-amyenda sa mga probisyon ng RA 8491 partikular na sa alternatibong paraan ng pagreretiro ng watawat.

Ang kaganapang ito ay nagsisilbing paalala na habang binibigyan natin ng marangal na pagreretiro ang ating pambansang sagisag, kailangan din nating maging mapanuri sa epekto nito sa ating kapaligiran.
