All Grade 12 students enrolled in pilot schools implementing the Strengthened Senior High School (SHS) Curriculum are now eligible to apply for the 2027 DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship.

Applicants enrolled in the Strengthened SHS Curriculum are required to submit Form E5 along with other required forms via https://ugs.science-scholarships.ph/

Twenty-two (22) selected DOST scholars from the MIMAROPA Region have made their way to Koronadal City, South Cotabato, to participate in the 2026 National Patriot Scholars Congress (NPSC) happening from September 3 to 6, 2026.

And while yesterday was only Day 0, our MIMAROPA scholars were already bringing beauty, brains, and regional pride to the national stage! โœจ

Representing the region in the Mr. and Ms. NPSC are Joaquin Anderson of Palawan and Mary Ellaine Cabiles of Marinduque, proudly showcasing the rich culture and identity of MIMAROPA through representations inspired by the regionโ€™s mythical creatures.

Their presentation draws inspiration from the legend of Marin and Gardukeโ€”a tale of two lovers whose story, according to the legend, gave rise to the heart-shaped island and the name Marinduque. โค๏ธ

Over the coming days, MIMAROPA scholars are set to learn, connect, and grow through talks from various speakers, interactive activities, and meaningful exchanges with fellow DOST scholars from across the country.

From Gloria, Oriental Mindoro to the national stage, the Semi-Automatic Feed Milling System developed by Mr. Nelson B. Diona of Red Gate Farm Supplies, with support from DOST-MIMAROPA, represented the Luzon Cluster and MIMAROPA Region as one of the 16 national finalists in the 2026 Presidential Filipinnovation Awards (PFA) organized by the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev).

Selected from 543 registrations and 138 official applications, the innovation advanced through the competition and reached the national finals, where Mr. Diona presented the system alongside some of the countryโ€™s promising homegrown innovations. The technology integrates grinding, mixing, conveying, and bagging into a streamlined process designed to make feed production more efficient and accessible for farmers.

DOST-MIMAROPA congratulates Mr. Diona and Red Gate Farm Supplies for reaching the national stage and proudly representing the Luzon Cluster and MIMAROPA Region. Their journey in the 2026 PFA demonstrates the potential of locally developed technologies from the region to respond to practical needs and compete alongside innovations from across the country.

In support of the countryโ€™s continued technological advancement and its goal of harnessing innovation to improve the lives of Filipinos, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. leads the 2026 Presidential Filipinnovation Awards (PFA) National Competition Awarding Ceremony at the Crowne Plaza Galleria along Ortigas Avenue in Quezon City on September 3, 2026.
The PFA is an annual recognition program honoring individuals and enterprises that develop innovative products, services, technologies or solutions with strong commercial and societal value.

As the countryโ€™s highest recognition for innovation, this yearโ€™s PFA follows a two-tier format, including the Sub-National Competitions covering the National Capital Region (NCR), Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao; and the National Competition, where five (5) will be named the 2026 Presidential Filipinnovation Awardees
