I am living proof that when a government invests in the education of its people, dreams become achievable and lives are transformed.

My journey as a beneficiary of the City Government of Taguig’s Lifeline Assistance for Neighbors In-need (LANI) Scholarship Program began during my college years. With the support of this program, I was able to continue pursuing my educational aspirations, complete my master’s degree, and ultimately achieve one of the greatest milestones of my academic journey successfully earning my doctorate degree.

Looking back, I realize that the LANI Scholarship Program has been more than a source of financial assistance. It has been a symbol of hope, an opportunity for growth, and a meaningful investment in my future. It has helped make a dream that once required years of hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance a reality.

My achievement is a personal victory, but it is also a testament to the vision of the City Government of Taguig in recognizing education as a powerful instrument for empowering individuals and transforming communities. Behind every scholar who graduates is a story of determination, and behind every opportunity is a commitment to building a better future.

I am deeply grateful to the City Government of Taguig and to everyone who continues to support the LANI Scholarship Program. Your investment in the education of Taguigeños creates opportunities that extend beyond graduation, reaching families, communities, and future generations.

Today, I stand not only as a proud LANI scholar but also as a doctorate degree holder whose journey reflects the transformative power of this program. My story is my personal attestation that LANI does not simply help students earn degrees it helps them build futures, fulfill aspirations, and become better equipped to contribute to society.

May the LANI Scholarship Program continue to touch lives, nurture dreams, and open doors for generations of scholars to come.

POV: Being able to prepare for, provide for myself, and stand on my own is a big achievement one I will always be grateful for and proud of.

Way back then, I used to do the same for people who were ungrateful and took my generosity for granted. Like a leech, they kept taking until I was completely drained, yet somehow, when I could no longer provide, I was the one painted in a bad light.

That experience taught me an important lesson: never let your ability to give become the reason people feel entitled to take from you.

At a time when violence involving our youth continues to challenge families and communities, Doc Kai chose not to simply stand on the sidelines. She chose to prepare, to serve, and to act.

She completed military training with flying colors not for recognition, but to strengthen herself for a greater purpose: to serve and protect the community.

Today, that commitment continues through ANAK, the organization she founded, where her advocacy for the youth and the community finds a deeper purpose. On September 19, 2026, Doc Kai once again stepped forward to share her voice and knowledge during the Crime Prevention Seminar held at the 2nd Floor, Barangay Hall Magsaysay Multi-Purpose Building, Brgy. South Signal Village, Taguig City. The seminar carried a powerful message:

“KABATAAN, PAMILYA, PAMAYANAN: SAMA-SAMA SA PAG-IWAS SA KRIMEN.” Because preventing crime does not begin when a crime has already happened. It begins long before at home, in our families, in our schools, and within our communities. It begins when we listen to our young people.It begins when families become stronger. It begins when communities choose cooperation over indifference.And it begins when people who have the capacity to serve consistently choose to do so. Doc Kai's journey proves that consistency is more than simply showing up it is continuing to answer the call, even when the work is difficult. 𝙈𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙧. 𝘼𝙉𝘼𝙆 𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧.
Community service continues to be the mission.
Because real service is not measured by a single event or a single achievement. It is measured by the willingness to keep showing up for the people who need you.

And when it comes to our youth, families, and communities, we cannot wait for the damage to happen before we act.

PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE.
Let us build a culture where the youth are guided, families are strengthened, communities are united, and prevention becomes everyone's responsibility.
