Mas matibay ang skills development kapag may matatag na suporta mula sa ating mga mambabatas. 🇵🇭💙

Maraming salamat sa ating mga senador sa kanilang pagkilala sa mahalagang papel ng technical vocational education and training (TVET) sa pagbibigay ng skills, livelihood, employment, at career opportunities sa mga Pilipino.

Tama—mabilis magbago ang mundo ng trabaho, kaya kailangan din nating patuloy na mag-adapt. Mas maraming paraan para matuto, mas responsive na training, mas maraming opportunities mula sa training hanggang trabaho, negosyo, at career growth.

Kaya naman, malaking encouragement para sa buong TESDA family ang ganitong suporta. Patuloy nating palalakasin ang TVET at sisiguraduhin na mas maraming Pilipino ang mabibigyan ng skills at oportunidad para umunlad.

Project BEST: Advancing the future of TVET

TESDA, led by Secretary Kiko Benitez, together with World Bank officials, met to discuss the World Bank Project Boosting Employability in Strategic TVET Sectors (BEST), focusing on the project’s design, institutional arrangements, implementation readiness, and key next steps toward loan negotiations and project effectiveness.

Project BEST aims to build a more inclusive, responsive, data-driven, and industry-aligned TVET system by strengthening TESDA’s systems and institutional capacity, improving access and inclusivity, and enhancing labor-market alignment and job prospects.

The five-year project targets 300,000 learners, particularly priority and vulnerable groups, as TESDA continues to strengthen skills development pathways that respond to the evolving needs of learners, industries, and the labor market.

🧭 TESDA LAUNCHES SKILLS COMPASS TO GUIDE LEARNERS TOWARD THE RIGHT CAREER PATH

In celebration of National Tech-Voc Day, TESDA launched the TESDA Skills COMPASS (Career Orientation and Matching for Professional Advancement and Support System) during the World Café of Opportunities 2026 on August 24 at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall.

The Skills COMPASS is a diagnostic tool designed to match learners’ strengths, skills, and interests with suitable TVET programs and career pathways, helping reduce skills mismatch and support better training and employment outcomes.

It assesses learners across six areas: Career Interest, Employability Skills, 21st Century Skills, Trade Skills, Socio-Emotional Skills, and Literacy & Numeracy Skills.

With the guidance of TESDA Guidance Counselors or designated Career Advocates, learners can use their results to identify TVET qualifications and training programs that best fit their profile, paving the way toward skills development, employment, career growth, and better livelihood opportunities.

HAPPENING NOW: Day 2 of the TVET Technical Policy Dialogue on Digital Transformation and the Future of Skills! 🌏💡

The 2nd day of the dialogue continues as ASEAN experts and stakeholders come together to exchange insights and explore strategies for navigating the changing world of work amid digitalization, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies.

Building on yesterday’s discussions, Day 2 deepens the conversation on strengthening TVET systems, advancing future-ready skills, and fostering inclusive workforce development across the region. It will feature roundtable discussions to examine the structural pillars of a resilient digital ecosystem—specifically focusing on policy frameworks, public-private partnerships, and sustainable infrastructure investment.

As the Philippines leads the ASEAN TVET Council (ATC), this milestone highlights our shared commitment to stronger regional cooperation and a more future-ready ASEAN workforce.
