A Legacy Remembered, A Future Renewed
Last December 12, 2025, we paused not merely to remember a name, but to honor a life whose ideals continued to shape hearts, minds, and communities. On the birth anniversary of the late Senator Renato “Compañero” Cayetano, we commemorated a statesman whose unwavering integrity, deep compassion, and selfless dedication to public service remained profoundly felt, most especially in the institution that proudly bore his name.
At Sen. Renato “Compañero” Cayetano Memorial Science and Technology High School, the day held deep and lasting significance. It was more than a remembrance of a birthdate; it was a tribute to a vision. A vision that believed education was a powerful equalizer, that public service must be grounded in sincerity, and that leadership must always be guided by empathy, courage, and truth.
The commemoration was made even more meaningful through the generosity of the Taguig City Government, under the leadership of our beloved Mayor Laarni “Ate Lani” L. Cayetano. The provision of free food for our faculty, staff, and students became a simple yet powerful gesture, one that reflected Senator Cayetano’s lifelong commitment to caring for the Filipino people. It reminded everyone that genuine service was best felt through acts of kindness, unity, and shared humanity.
As we listened to the voices of our teachers and students, we were reminded that Senator Cayetano’s legacy lived on not only in history books or monuments, but in everyday actions. It lived in every learner we guided, every value we upheld, and every opportunity we nurtured within the school. His name was not merely displayed on the walls; it was reflected in the school’s mission, discipline, and collective hope for a better future.
Standing strong as a symbol of his ideals, the school continued to be a place where character was formed, dreams were encouraged, and service was lived. We carried his name with humility, honored his legacy with gratitude, and moved forward with a renewed sense of purpose.

Here at SRCCMSTHS, we looked back on the late senator’s contributions with deep respect and moved forward inspired to live by the values he so nobly championed.
