IN PHOTOS I Signal Regiment Upholds Cyber Battalion's Legacy of Excellence Under New Leadership
The Signal Regiment, Philippine Army, formally welcomed its newly appointed Commanding Officer of the Cyber Battalion during a Change of Command Ceremony held on July 31, 2026, at the Headquarters Signal Regiment, Fort Andres Bonifacio, Taguig City. The ceremony was presided over by Brig. Gen. Jamel P. Samonte, Commander of the Signal Regiment, Philippine Army.
Lt. Col. Melanie B. Sibayan officially assumed command of the Cyber Battalion, succeeding Lt. Col. Ariel A. Alejandro. The transfer of authority signified a seamless leadership transition and reaffirmed the Battalion's commitment to mission accomplishment, operational excellence, and organizational readiness.
In his message, Brig. Gen. Jamel P. Samonte, Commander of the Signal Regiment, Philippine Army, emphasized the importance of strong, adaptive, and visionary leadership in sustaining the Cyber Battalion's operational excellence. He underscored the unit's vital role in strengthening the Philippine Army's cyber defense capabilities and encouraged all personnel to remain united, disciplined, and committed to excellence as they continue to address the evolving challenges in the cyber domain in support of the Regiment's mission.
The Change of Command Ceremony reaffirmed the Signal Regimentโs commitment to leadership continuity, organizational excellence, and the continuous enhancement of the Philippine Armyโs cyberspace capabilities in support of national defense.
