The 2026 Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week – National Capital Region (RSTW-NCR) officially kicks off today at the Valenzuela City People's Park, marking the start of a three-day celebration of science, technology, and innovation.

Despite the suspension of classes and government work across the National Capital Region, the opening ceremonies successfully pushed through, demonstrating the unwavering commitment of the science and technology community to advancing innovation and delivering meaningful programs for the Filipino people.

A major highlight of the opening ceremonies was the launch of the DOST Advanced Manufacturing Center (DOST-AMCen) in the National Capital Region, together with the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing with its partner institutions. This milestone strengthens regional collaboration in advancing advanced manufacturing, research, innovation, and technology development, further expanding opportunities for industry, academe, and government to work together toward a more innovative and globally competitive Philippines.

Anchored on this year's theme, "Siyensya, Teknolohiya, at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na Kinabukasan," RSTW-NCR showcases how science, technology, and innovation continue to empower communities, drive sustainable development, and create a brighter future for all.
