UNITED FOR A DRUG-FREE TAGUDIN! ๐
In observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT) 2026, the Local Government Unit of Tagudin, under the leadership of Mayor Evangeline I. Verzosa, through the Municipal Health Office headed by Dr. Richel Ann Dorao, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office I โ Ilocos Sur Provincial Office and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), successfully conducted a series of meaningful activities to strengthen public awareness and reinforce the municipality's commitment to a drug-free community.
On June 25, 2026, Barangay Officials participated in a lecture on Section 21 of Republic Act No. 9165, facilitated by Atty. Gelaiza Lem B. Tique, Prosecution Attorney. The discussion enhanced participants' understanding on the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, particularly the proper handling of evidence and the importance of upholding the rule of law in the fight against illegal drugs.
On June 26, 2026, learners of Pudoc West Integrated School attended a Drug Awareness Lecture conducted by the PDEA RO1 โ Ilocos Sur Provincial Office, equipping the youth with valuable knowledge on the harmful effects of illegal drugs and empowering them to make healthy and responsible life choices.
Complementing these educational initiatives was the Indak Kontra Droga, held on June 25, 2026, which gathered LGU employees, elected officials, and uniformed personnel in a vibrant display of unity, wellness, and shared commitment to promoting a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.
These activities reflect the unwavering dedication of the Municipality of Tagudin to preventing drug abuse through education, collaboration, and active community participation. Together, let us continue to inspire every Tagudinian to choose health, hope, and a future free from illegal drugs.
