ALAM N’YO BA? | Maraming lokal na pamahalaan na ang mayroong Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officers (LEDIPOs)

Ang Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officers (LEDIPOs) ay kawani ng lokal na pamahalaan na may tungkulin na mangasiwa at magpadali sa paghahanda, koordinasyon, at pagpapatupad ng mga patakaran, programa, proyekto, at gawain para sa lokal na pagpapaunlad ng ekonomiya at pagsusulong ng pamumuhunan ng pamahalaang panlalawigan, panlungsod, o pambayan.

Tungkulin rin ng isang LEDIPO na:

✅ Isulong ang mga lokal na pagsisikap upang makahikayat ng mga mamumuhunan

✅ Suportahan ang mga lokal na negosyo

✅ Lumikha ng mga trabaho

✅ Mapalawak ang mga oportunidad sa kanilang lokal na ekonomiya

Sa kasalukuyan, 57 na probinsya 110 na lungsod, at 1,274 na munisipalidad na ang mayroong LEDIPOs, habang, 688 LGUs na ang nagkapagtatag ng kanilang Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion (LEDIP) Offices.

Patuloy na pinapalakas ng DILG ang mga mekanismo ng Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion (LEDIP) upang magbigay-daan sa mga LGU na magkaroon ng mas aktibong papel sa pagpapasigla ng ekonomiya sa pamamagitan ng paglikha ng mga kondisyong humihikayat sa mga negosyo na mamuhunan, lumawak, at makalikha ng mga trabaho sa lokal na antas.

𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐊𝐀𝐌𝐀𝐁𝐀𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐆 𝐏𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐓𝐘 𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐍𝐀𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐀 𝐒𝐀 𝟗.𝟕%

Naitala ng Pilipinas ang pinakamababang poverty incidence na 9.7 percent noong nakaraang taon. Ayon sa DEPDev, naabot ng bansa ang single-digit na poverty rate nang mas maaga sa target na nakasaad sa Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028.

Sa inilabas na 2025 Full-Year Poverty Statistics ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) ngayong araw, Agosto 21, ipinapakita na 6.5 million na mga Pilipino ang nakaahon mula sa kahirapan mula 2023 hanggang 2025.

Kaugnay nito, bumaba rin sa 11.0 million noong 2025 ang bilang ng mga Pilipino na nasa ilalim ng poverty threshold mula sa 17.5 million noong 2023.

Sinabi ni DEPDev Secretary Arsenio M. Balisacan na ipinapakita ng maagang pagkamit sa target na ito na nakatulong sa pagpapabuti ng buhay ng mga Pilipino ang mas maraming oportunidad sa kabuhayan at mga programang panlipunan.
