Ms. Maria Vilma C. Yorong, PGDH, BEPO-PESO Provincial Manager/CTEC, actively participated in the Local and Overseas Job Fair with Serbisyo Caravan, which was facilitated by the Municipality of San Miguel, Bohol through its Public Employment Service Office (PESO), headed by Ms. Yevgeny A. Lanoy, on May 5, 2026, at the San Miguel Municipal Gymnasium in San Miguel, Bohol.
The job fair featured the participation of several local recruitment agencies, including Ibex Global Solutions Philippines, Inc., Nuat Thai Services, Inc., Roast and Toast Foodline, Inc., and Southern Star Bus Transit, Inc. For overseas employment opportunities, the following agencies were present: Light and Hope Overseas Placement Agency, Inc., and SMC Manpower Agency Philippines Company. Complementing the employment services, the Serbisyo Caravan brought together key national government agencies to provide frontline services and assistance, namely: the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), PhilHealth, Philippine Statistics Authority (PhilSys), Social Security System (SSS), and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Bohol Field Office.
The convergence of employment facilitation and government services aimed to streamline access to jobs, promote entrepreneurship, and support worker welfare in a single venue. Ms. Yorong highlighted that initiatives like this reinforced the provincial governmentโs goal of inclusive growth by ensuring that Boholanosโespecially those in rural areasโhad direct access to livelihood opportunities and essential services.
This activity contributed to strategic change in several important ways, particularly in fostering inclusive economic growth. By bringing job opportunities directly to municipalities like San Miguel, the provincial government reduced geographic barriers to employment, supporting more balanced economic development across Bohol, not just in urban centers.
The presence of both local and overseas employers helped upgrade the skills and employability of Boholanos and aligned with long-term goals of building a globally competitive workforce. Moreover, the Serbisyo Caravan model integrated multiple government services into a single event, making governance more efficient, accessible, and citizen-centeredโkey elements of institutional reform.
