Reaffirming its commitment to empower irrigators, NIA Region VII actively facilitated and supported the successful conduct of the General Assembly Meeting and Blessing of New Farm Equipment of the Mabini Cayacay Irrigators' Association, Inc. held on May 21, 2026 at the Covered Court, Brgy. Abaca, Mabini, Bohol.
The newly released farm machineries from PhilMechโa Combined Harvester and a Four-Wheel Drive Tractorโwas blessed by Rev. Fr. Niel Patrick Salada. These modern farm equipment are expected to enhance farming efficiency, reduce labor costs, and contribute to increased agricultural productivity among the association's members.
During the assembly, members discussed key organizational matters including the association's financial report, policies on the operation and management of the farm machineries, the cropping calendar, and water delivery schedules for the upcoming planting season.
Present during the event were IA members led by IA President Mr. Rito S. Muring, Abaca Brgy. Captain Julio R. Tutor, PhilMech representative Reymundo Gimenez, and NIA Region VII Regional Manager Engr. Eusebio S. Villamanto along with Irrigators' Development Officer (IDO) Ivy S. Alo, PIC Engr. Isra Rujo B. Angway, and ROW Negotiator Grace S. Ugay.
In his message, RM Villamanto encouraged the farmers to maximize available government support programs citing that NIA is always there to assist in facilitating various assistance opportunities from partner institutions such as the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of DSWD, Agri-Asenso Program of LandBank, DOLE, the Department of Agriculture (DA), among others.
The activity concluded on a festive note with a raffle draw featuring farming tools, bringing excitement and appreciation to the participating farmer-members.
