The Bohol Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) convened in a Full Council Meeting held on May 28, 2026, at the Ceremonial Hall, Provincial Capitol, Tagbilaran City, Bohol. It was presided by Provincial Administrator Asteria C. Caberte. Representing DILG Bohol Provincial Director Johnjoan A. Mende, Cluster Head Regina Gina G. Bastes, Officer-in-Charge, joined fellow council members and stakeholders in discussing key DRRM concerns affecting the province.
During the meeting, LGOO II Meah Hecell Nisnisan-Genovia, DILG Bohol DRRM Focal Person, presented significant DILG updates and issuances, particularly the DILG Advisory on the Mitigation and Preparedness Measures in Anticipation of the El Niรฑo Phenomenon, emphasizing the importance of early preparedness and coordinated actions to minimize its potential impacts on communities.
A major milestone of the meeting was the approval of the Enhanced Bohol Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan (LDRRMP) for 2026โ2031, a comprehensive roadmap that will guide the province's disaster resilience initiatives for the next six years. DILG Bohol significantly contributed to the formulation and review of the plan through active participation in a series of technical discussions and planning workshops, ensuring that the framework remains responsive, inclusive, and aligned with national DRRM policies.
The Bohol PDRRMC continues to build a safer, more prepared, and disaster-resilient Bohol through strengthened partnerships, informed decision-making, and shared commitment to protecting lives, livelihoods, and communities.
