In line with Mayor Jane Yap’s strong commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability efforts, the City Human Resource Management and Development Office (CHRMDO), together with the Vice Mayor’s Office (VMO), Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP), City Planning and Development Office (CPDO), Tagbilaran City Environment Management Office (TCEMO), City Agriculture and Veterinary Office (CAVO) successfully conducted a volunteerism activity through Mangrove Bagging on June 5, 2026 at Brgy. Bool, Tagbilaran City. This green initiative was made possible through a vital partnership with Catholic Relief Services (CRS).

By nurturing our coastlines, this collective effort aims to strengthen the city's commitment to environmental stewardship, coastal protection, and sustainable development.

In celebration of and today’s theme, , the National Museum of the Philippines Bohol highlights how art and creativity within museum spaces can foster peace, healing, and meaningful human connection.

Beyond being institutions for learning, preservation, and research, museums also serve as spaces for reflection, expression, and emotional renewal. Through creative engagement, visitors are encouraged to slow down, connect with others, and discover new ways of understanding themselves and the world around them.

One of these opportunities is , a free weekly creative activity held every Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at . Open to visitors of all ages, the program provides a welcoming space where creativity becomes a tool for learning, relaxation, and community-building.

Throughout the year, participants have enjoyed a variety of hands-on activities such as painting miniature artworks, coloring natural history-themed sheets, creating DIY greeting cards, sculpting with clay, yarn painting, crochet, and writing heartfelt messages of encouragement and inspiration. Others express themselves through drawing, collaborative art-making, and creative projects that transform simple materials into personal reflections of hope, identity, and imagination.

These shared experiences, often enjoyed with family members, friends, classmates, and travelers, transform the museum into more than just a place for viewing collections. They create opportunities for dialogue, understanding, and connection among people from different backgrounds and generations.

Through art-making and engagement with cultural and natural heritage, visitors discover that creativity has the power to comfort, inspire, and bring people together. In these quiet moments of expression and exchange, museums become spaces where stories are shared, differences are respected, and peace is nurtured one creative act at a time.
