🏀 Governor’s Cup Basketball D-League Season 4 Set to Resume

Under the leadership of Governor Erico Aristotle “Aris” C. Aumentado, preparations are underway for the resumption of the Governor’s Cup Basketball D-League Season 4 as the Local Government Affairs (LGA) convened coordination meetings with Sports Coordinators, Local Youth Development Officers (LYDOs), and Team Managers to finalize plans for the upcoming tournament.

The Opening Ceremonies are scheduled on August 8, 2026 at the Corella Gymnasium for the Western Conference, and on August 9, 2026 at the Carmen Gymnasium for the Eastern Conference.

A total of 49 teams from various LGUs across Bohol will compete in the U17 and U20 categories, reflecting Governor Aumentado’s commitment to youth development, sports excellence, and building stronger communities through athletics.

The Provincial Government of Bohol, under the leadership of Governor Erico Aristotle “Aris” C. Aumentado, continued the rollout of the 2nd Tranche of the Bugas Ayuda Rice Distribution Program, implemented under the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) – Bawat Bayan Makikinabang Program, benefiting 1,088 qualified beneficiaries at the Anda Cultural Center.

The distribution was conducted in coordination with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), ensuring the orderly and efficient release of rice assistance to qualified beneficiaries.

Through Bugas Ayuda, the Provincial Government continues to extend timely assistance to Boholanos, reflecting its commitment to responsive and compassionate public service.

Representing Governor Aris, Ian Joel Bomediano conveyed the Provincial Government’s commitment to bringing timely assistance to qualified beneficiaries through programs that uplift the welfare of Boholanos.

Capacity Development for Barangay Officials and Stakeholders

July 15, 2026 | Approximately 310 participants from Talibon, Anda, and Candijay gathered for the Capacity Development for Barangay Officials, organized by the Local Government Affairs (LGA) under the Office of the Governor in coordination with Provincial Government offices and partner agencies. Participants included barangay officials, Municipal Agriculture Officers (MAOs), Municipal Councilors chairing the Committee on Agriculture, and presidents of barangay-based farmers’ and fisherfolks’ associations.

Guided by the vision of Governor Erico Aristotle “Aris” C. Aumentado, the activity continues to equip barangay leaders and stakeholders with practical knowledge to strengthen agriculture, food security, and grassroots governance.

LGA Head Stephen A. Rances emphasized the vital role of agriculture and encouraged barangay officials to promote unity, particularly in addressing concerns surrounding the Bugas Ayuda rice distribution program. Executive Assistant Pablio “Bebot” D. Sumampong served as the Master of Ceremonies, with the support of the LGA staff.

Also present were Board Members Lucille “Nanay” Lagunay, Romulo Cepedoza, Nathaniel Oñes Binlod, Joahna Cabalit-Initay, and DJ Balite.

The learning sessions featured Leon Parac Jr. (OPA), Remon Bongansiso (PCIC), Atty. Justin Amora and Atty. Francis Marco Somorostro (PLO), and Benjamin Villeno (PCDO), who shared practical insights on agriculture, crop insurance, legal matters, and cooperative development. Polizena “Zizi” Rances of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) also discussed the PhilHealth YAKAP program, helping participants better understand its benefits and services.

The activity concluded with an exciting raffle draw, where live chicks were awarded as the grand prizes, adding a fun and memorable end to the day’s learning.

Representing Governor Aris, Executive Assistant Jun Flores Jr. led the distribution in the municipalities of Getafe, Talibon, Bien Unido, and Trinidad, conveying the Governor’s gratitude to BHWs for their commitment as frontliners in promoting the health and well-being of Boholanos.

The yearly honorarium forms part of the Provincial Government’s continuing support for more than 8,000 Barangay Health Workers across the province, in recognition of their vital role in delivering basic health services at the grassroots.

Approximately 310 participants from the municipalities of Talibon, Anda, and Candijay are currently participating in the Capacity Development for Barangay Officials 2026, organized by the Local Government Affairs (LGA) under the Office of the Governor in coordination with Provincial Government offices and partner agencies.

Guided by the vision of Governor Erico Aristotle “Aris” C. Aumentado to strengthen grassroots governance, the activity equips barangay officials and stakeholders with practical knowledge to support agriculture, food security, and sustainable community development.

In his opening message, LGA Head Stephen A. Rances underscored the vital role of agriculture in the province and recognized the invaluable contributions of Bohol’s farmers and fisherfolk. He also encouraged barangay officials to foster unity within their communities, particularly in addressing concerns surrounding the Bugas Ayuda rice distribution program. Executive Assistant Pablio “Bebot” D. Sumampong serves as the Master of Ceremonies.

Board Members Lucille “Nanay” Lagunay, Romulo Cepedoza, Nathaniel Oñes Binlod, and Joahna Cabalit-Initay shared practical insights for better barangay governance. Board Member Lagunay, Chairperson of the Committee on Cooperatives, NGOs, POs & Civil Society Organizations, highlighted how the Provincial Cooperative Development Office (PCDO) helps improve the livelihoods of fisherfolk and supports efforts toward more affordable fish for Boholanos. Board Member Cepedoza shared that, in his 27 years of public service, Governor Aris is the only governor he has seen prioritize grassroots empowerment, encouraging barangays to embrace their development projects as their own. Board Member Binlod expressed his support for barangays’ requests for financial assistance and reaffirmed his commitment to legislative measures that strengthen the agriculture sector. Board Member Joahna Cabalit-Initay highlighted the health benefits of virgin coconut oil and herbal medicines.

July 14, 2026 | Approximately 315 participants from the municipalities of Garcia Hernandez and Jagna gathered for the Capacity Development for Barangay Officials, organized by the Local Government Affairs (LGA) under the Office of the Governor, in coordination with Provincial Government offices and partner agencies.

The activity was graced by Governor Erico Aristotle "Aris" C. Aumentado, reaffirming the Provincial Government's commitment to empowering barangay leaders through practical knowledge and stronger collaboration in advancing the Food Security and Sufficiency Program.

LGA Head Stephen A. Rances shared that this year's Capacity Development is the fourth conducted under the administration of Governor Aris, reflecting the Governor's vision of equipping barangay leaders with practical knowledge and skills for effective local governance. Executive Assistant Pablio "Bebot" D. Sumampong served as the Master of Ceremonies, while the dedicated efforts of the LGA staff contributed to the successful conduct of the activity.

Also present were Vice Governor Nick Besas and Board Members Lucille Lagunay, Greg Jala, Romulo Cepedoza, Nathaniel Oñes Binlod, Joahna Cabalit-Initay, Tita V. Baja, and DJ Balite, who encouraged barangay leaders to continue supporting the Provincial Government's priority development programs through the proper implementation and liquidation of priority development projects and compliance with the necessary requirements.

Participants included barangay officials together with Municipal Agriculture Officers (MAOs), Municipal Councilors who chair the Committee on Agriculture, and presidents of barangay-based farmers' and fisherfolks' associations, supporting the Province's Food Security and Sufficiency Program.

The learning sessions featured Gertrudes Fuentes of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), John Fel Acaso of the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), Jun Oliver of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), Atty. John Paparon of the Provincial Legal Office (PLO), and Benjamin Villeno of the Provincial Community Development Office (PCDO), who shared valuable insights on agriculture, crop insurance, legal matters, community development, and other practical topics relevant to barangay governance.

Participants actively engaged in the discussions through meaningful exchanges with the resource speakers, reinforcing their commitment to bringing new knowledge and best practices back to their respective communities. The activity concluded with an exciting raffle draw, where live chicks served as the grand prizes, delighting the lucky winners from Garcia Hernandez and Jagna while promoting backyard poultry as an additional livelihood opportunity.

Governor Aris Aumentado joined today’s Capacity Development for Barangay Officials and Stakeholders, where approximately 315 participants from Garcia Hernandez and Jagna gathered for the Food Security and Sufficiency Program.

In his message, Governor Aris encouraged barangay leaders and stakeholders to continue supporting the Provincial Government’s priority development programs through responsive leadership, proper implementation of projects, and timely compliance with reporting and liquidation requirements.
