BPPO WCPD PARTICIPATES IN JOINT PCAT-VAWC AND PCPC MEETING

Personnel from the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) of the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO), led by PLT ELMA L SUMA-OY, Chief, WCPD, actively participated in the Joint Meeting of the Provincial Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (PCAT-VAWC) and Provincial Council for the Protection of Children (PCPC) held on March 25, 2026, at Panda Tea Garden Suites, Tagbilaran City.

The activity highlighted key discussions on the Child Budget and Expenditure Tagging and Tracking (CBETT), updates and accomplishments of member agencies, and the finalization of the Revised Bohol Children’s Code and Local Development Plan for Children.

This initiative reinforces BPPO’s commitment to strengthening collaboration and advancing programs for the protection and welfare of women and children.

PEMS Jill N Gorgonio, WCPD Senior PNCO, served as the Resource Speaker during the seminar on Republic Act 9262: Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004, held on March 23, 2026 at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Camp Francisco Dagohoy, Tagbilaran City.

Personnel from the different police stations of Bohol Police Provincial Office participated in the activity, which aimed to strengthen awareness and enhance the capability of law enforcers in effectively handling VAWC- related cases.

The seminar underscored the importance of upholding the rights and welfare of women and children through responsive and informed policing.

BPPO WCPD Investigators Participate in Women Investigators Forum

The Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) Investigators of the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO), headed by PCPT GIRLIE A TOLOP, Chief, WCPD, attended the Women Investigators Forum held at the PRO7 Conference Room, Camp Sergio Osmeña Sr., Cebu City on March 16, 2026.

The forum featured Hon. Geraldine Faith A. Econg, Presiding Justice of the Sandiganbayan, as guest speaker, and gathered women investigators from across the region.

Other WCPD investigators from BPPO also joined the activity virtually via Zoom together with their respective Chiefs of Police, demonstrating their support and commitment to strengthening the role of women investigators in law enforcement.

The activity forms part of the 2026 National Women’s Month Celebration.

MEDALYA NG KASANAYAN

On March 16, 2026, PCPT GIRLIE A TOLOP, Chief, Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) of Bohol Police Provincial Office, was awarded the MEDALYA NG KASANAYAN during the Flag Raising Ceremony at the Police Regional Office 7, Camp Sergio Osmeña Sr., Cebu City, in recognition of her exemplary performance, dedication, and unwavering commitment to duty.

The recognition forms part of the National Women’s Month celebration, where outstanding personnel were honored for their significant contributions to the organization.

PCPT Tolop’s outstanding service as the Chief, WCPD, contributed to the 100% Crime Clearance Efficiency of the WCPD for Calendar Year 2025, reflecting her steadfast commitment to justice and to the protection and welfare of women and children in the community.

The Bohol Police Provincial Office proudly commends PCPT Tolop for bringing honor and pride to the organization through her dedication, professionalism, and remarkable service to the public.

On March 6, 2026, PCPT GIRLIE A TOLOP, Chief of the Women and Children Protection Desk, Bohol Police Provincial Office, under the supervision of PCOL PATRICIO C DEGAY, JR., Provincial Director, served as one of the guest speakers during the weekly tri-media forum entitled, “The Capitol Reports | Bohol Honors Women: Empowerment, Equality and Progress", in line with the National Women's Month Celebration 2026, with the theme, "Lead like the Babaylans, Filipinas!".

During the activity, PCPT Tolop shared valuable insights on the protection of women and children and the role of the PNP in promoting gender equality and safeguarding the rights of vulnerable sectors in the community.
