Our Centrist Democratic Party—
Partido ng Tunay na Demokrasya is—One Year Old!

A year ago, on 12 September 2012, the Commission on Elections accredited our Centrist Democratic Party of the Philippines—Partido ng Tunay na Demokrasya—as a national political party.
Unique among political parties in our country, the CDP-PDI is organized to be a political party:
1. That has a mass base of members in each and all the legislative districts of our country;
2. Whose members pay their annual dues in order to own and sustain their political party and prevent its leaders from dominating it through patronage, as traditional parties do;
3. That upholds the constitutional vision “to build a just and humane society” and “a democracy under the rule of law and a regime of truth, justice and freedom, love, equality, and peace….[ Preamble]”;
4. That observes democracy in its internal management and selection of members, leaders, and party candidates for public office;
5. That has a political ideology and platform of governance and reform adopted by its members to obtain popular support and to guide the political party when its leaders are in power;
6. Whose party’s core principles and program of governance and reform are human dignity, subsidiarity, social market economy, reform of dysfunctional institutions and policies, and the building of a peaceful and progressive Filipino nation-state and inclusive democracy with a parliamentary government and a federal structure;
7. That is responsive and accountable to the people at all times;
8. And therefore engages the people in dealing with their problems and concerns all year round, and not only during an election year; and
9. That will help empower our citizens by promoting socio-economic development, good governance, and global competitiveness, and their involvement in the community, the government, and the world at large.
