Sa pagdiriwang ng Araw ng Kagitingan, ating ginugunita at binibigyang-pugay ang kabayanihan at sakripisyo ng mga Pilipinong nag-alay ng kanilang buhay para sa kalayaan ng ating bayan. Ang kanilang katapangan at pagmamahal sa bansa ay nagsisilbing inspirasyon sa bawat henerasyon upang patuloy na ipaglaban ang kapayapaan, pagkakaisa, at kaunlaran.

Nawa’y magsilbi ang araw na ito bilang paalala na ang tunay na kagitingan ay makikita sa ating pagkakaisa, pagtutulungan, at malasakit sa kapwa at sa ating bayan.

The Local Government Unit of Tagana-an, led by Mayor Hon. Cesar Ian B. Diaz and Vice Mayor Cesar B. Diaz, Jr., successfully conducted a bay watch and tourist assistance operation on Resurrection Sunday, ensuring a safe and peaceful celebration for visitors and locals alike.

The joint efforts of MDRRMO, Tourism Office, PNP, BFP, and PCG resulted in zero incidents, a testament to the municipality's commitment to public safety.

Despite the efforts, tourist arrivals were lower than expected, with 2,600 visitors this year compared to 3,121 last year. This decrease may impact local businesses due to rising fuel and essential prices.

The LGU Tagana-an commends the teams involved for their dedication to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for tourists.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Tagana-an actively participated in the forum on "Preparing for the Big Ones: Understanding Earthquake and Earthquake Hazards in Surigao del Norte".

The activity aimed to enhance the knowledge, awareness, and preparedness of local DRRM practitioners and other concerned agencies, in addressing earthquake risks and strengthening community resilience.

The forum was graced by Hon. Kaiser B. Recabo, Jr., Board Member of District II and Chairperson of the DRR-CCA Committee, alongside representatives from the World Food Programme Philippines, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts in disaster risk reduction.

A comprehensive discussion on earthquake hazards and preparedness strategies was delivered by Mr. Jeffrey S. Perez, OIC of the Geologic Disaster Awareness and Preparedness Division of DOST-PHIVOLCS, equipping participants with vital scientific insights and practical approaches for disaster readiness, where he also emphasized the historical occurrence of earthquakes in Surigao del Norte and the possibility of recurrence.

MDRRMO Tagana-an reaffirms its commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness initiatives and ensuring the safety and resilience of every Taganaanon.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Tagana-an informs the public that a siren will be sounded as part of the conduct of the 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹 (𝗡𝗦𝗘𝗗) 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗬 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

Residents are advised not to be alarmed upon hearing the siren, as this serves as the official signal for the earthquake drill simulation being conducted by the municipality together with partner agencies, barangays, and schools.

The public is also encouraged to observe and practice the “𝘋𝘶𝘤𝘬, 𝘊𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘏𝘰𝘭𝘥”.

The Municipality of Tagana-an will actively participate in the First Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) for CY 2026, schedule today, March 12, 2026 at 3:30 in the afternoon, in coordination with municipal employees, partner agencies, barangays, and participating schools.

This activity aims to strengthen earthquake preparedness and ensure that government personnel, communities, and learners are equipped with the proper knowledge and response actions during seismic events. Through the collective participation of various sectors, the municipality continues to enhance its disaster readiness and promote a culture of safety and resilience.

All participating offices, barangays, and schools are encouraged to observe the proper earthquake drill procedures and actively support this nationwide initiative for disaster preparedness.

Together, we continue to build a safer Tagana-an.
