The Sultan Kudarat Water District (SKWD) successfully conducted the two-day training workshop entitled โData-Driven Water Services: A Training Workshop on Integrating Sex-Disaggregated Data from Project Design to Implementationโ on April 29โ30, 2026 at the SKWD MultiPurpose Hall.
The activity gathered members of the SKWD Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) Executive Committee, Technical Working Group (TWG), implementers, and Information Technology personnel in a collaborative effort to strengthen the institutionโs capacity in mainstreaming Gender and Development (GAD) principles through evidence-based and data-driven approaches.
Serving as Resource Speaker was Professor Susie D. Daza, who facilitated discussions on the importance of sex-disaggregated data (SDD) in policy formulation, project development, program implementation, and service delivery. The sessions emphasized the role of gender-responsive data systems in identifying gender gaps and ensuring inclusive and equitable public services.
Through interactive workshops and planning activities, participants developed strategies for integrating SDD into SKWD operations and programs. A significant output of the training was the enhancement of the SKWD survey tool for sex-disaggregated data gathering and the initial framework for a centralized data banking system that will support organizational planning, monitoring, and decision-making.
The activity also reinforced SKWDโs commitment to strengthening gender-responsive governance and aligning institutional practices with national GAD policies and gender mainstreaming initiatives. By integrating sex-disaggregated data into water service planning and implementation, SKWD aims to improve the responsiveness, inclusivity, and effectiveness of its programs and services for all stakeholders.
This initiative forms part of SKWDโs continuing efforts to promote gender equality, empower employees and stakeholders through capacity-building activities, and foster a culture of inclusive and sustainable public service. (๐๐ฐ๐ณ๐ช๐ค๐ข๐ณ ๐. ๐๐ข๐ฑ๐ข๐ต, ๐๐๐)
