The Local Government Unit of Tacurong City conducted its regular Monday Flag Raising Ceremony today, June 1, 2026, in front of the City Hall main building. The activity was attended by city officials, LGU employees, men and women in uniform, and other public servants of the city.
During the ceremony, City Mayor Lina O. Montilla, PhD officially introduced the new Chief of Police of Tacurong City, PLTCOL NESTOR M MADERSE. In his short message, PLTCOL MADERSE expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and assured the public of his commitment to maintaining peace, order, and public safety in the city. He also called for unity and cooperation among the community, local officials, and law enforcement authorities in promoting a safer and more progressive Tacurong.
Mayor Montilla also announced the upcoming Brigada Eskwela activities, where LGU employees will be assigned to different schools in the city to help prepare classrooms and school facilities for the opening of classes. She encouraged everyone to actively participate and support the program.
Meanwhile, Marlow Anthony Buenacosa, Health Education and Promotions Officer, gave an advisory regarding the increasing cases of dengue brought about by the rainy season. He shared important reminders on dengue prevention and encouraged everyone to support the “Search and Destroy” campaign to be conducted in every barangay on June 3. He also promoted the importance of maintaining a healthy workplace among employees.
In addition, CENRO Acting Head Ceasar Banusing, EnP, announced the celebration of the Philippine Environment Month this June. He presented the series of activities lined up for the month, highlighting the upcoming Katungal Creek Clean-Up Drive as one of the major environmental initiatives of the city.
