TACURONG CITY, June 1, 2026 – The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Tacurong City officially launched the 2026 Division Brigada Eskwela Kick-Off Program at Tacurong National High School–Extension, marking the start of a community-wide effort to prepare schools for the opening of School Year 2026–2027.
Anchored on the theme, “Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman,” the event brought together representatives from the local government, barangay officials, community organizations, private and public institutions, and various education stakeholders, all united in their commitment to creating safe, inclusive, and learner-friendly school environments.
The host school, Tacurong National High School–Extension, under the leadership of School Principal Martin I. Diaz, is set to open its doors this School Year 2026–2027 to welcome its pioneering batch of Grade 7 learners. Situated on a three-hectare property acquired through the Special Education Fund (SEF), the new institution stands as a testament to the city’s continued investment in quality and accessible education.
The program commenced with a Holy Mass, setting a solemn and meaningful tone for the day’s activities.

Bernardo; members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod; officials from the Barangay Local Government Units of Carmen and Kalandagan; representatives of the Retired Teachers Association; partner banks; and numerous stakeholders from both the public and private sectors.
One of the highlights of the kick-off program was the tree-planting activity, during which Narra tree seedlings were planted around the school grounds. The activity symbolized the stakeholders’ shared commitment not only to education but also to environmental stewardship, sustainability, and the creation of a greener learning environment for future generations.
In his message, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Gilbert B. Barrera underscored the importance of collective responsibility in advancing educational goals.
