Today, SIB Team under ARBDSP conducted training on Organic Fertilizer Production at Upper Katungal, Tacurong City, with participants from three organizations: Agrarian Reform Farmers Association, P4MP-Upper Katungal, and LANUPKAT IA. This training aims to promote sustainable agriculture and eco-friendly farming practices.

Congratulations to the ARBOs of Brgy. Sinakulay and Brgy. Tual, President Quirino, Sultan Kudarat, for the successful turnover of the ₱30-million Farm-to-Market Road Project given by DAR Sultan Kudarat and implemented by the PLGU Sultan Kudarat.

The project, spanning 1,500 linear meters, will benefit 403 households, including 225 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs).

This milestone marks a step forward in strengthening rural development and improving the quality of life for the farming community.

The Department of Agrarian Reform- Provincial Office with the partnership in the Department of Science and Technology Region XII, through its Provincial Science and Technology Office in Sultan Kudarat.

The training featured combined hands-on workshops with in-depth lectures on basic food hygiene, food safety, and efficient processing techniques, led by Regional Training Coordinator Ms. Sapia S. Uka, Supervising SRS. The 30 Participants gained practical skills to ensure their products meet commercial standards, fostering confidence in their entrepreneurial potential. Additionally, Ms. Beatriz O. Bongcawel, Senior SRS, delivered an engaging session on designing visually appealing and regulatory-compliant product packaging and labeling. Her expert guidance enhanced participants’ understanding of effective product design, emphasizing strategic branding to captivate consumers in local markets.

The training aligns with DOST’s mission to drive innovation in agriculture and DAR’s goal of uplifting agrarian reform beneficiaries. By transforming coconut sapal by product often discarded but can process into nutritious pretzels/biscuits, and crafting creamy coconut jam, the cooperative is tapping into sustainable practices that reduce waste and maximize resources.

This collaborative effort not only equips the D. Lotilla Farmers Agriculture Cooperative with skills to boost household incomes but also positions them as contributors to the province’s thriving agripreneurship landscape. With newfound expertise and market-ready products, the cooperative is poised to make a lasting impact on Sultan Kudarat’s economy while promoting sustainable coconut farming.

The DARPO Sultan Kudarat SIB team conducted a training on “Basic Nursery Establishment and Management” on March 17-18, 2025, in Barangays Nati and Gapok. It was attended by officers and members of UHFC, Tuburan FA, LAMFACCO, and GAFAGCO.

The training covered seed selection, soil preparation, propagation, and nursery maintenance, emphasizing sustainable practices to enhance agricultural productivity.

The tradition goes on. The ARBDSP Division of DARPO Sultan Kudarat spearheaded an outreach program to the Manobo-Dulangan Community at Sitio Pakwen, Midtungok, Senator Ninoy Aquino on December 27, 2024.

Groceries, school supplies, clothes, toys and other essential items were given to 40 households.

This activity was made possible through the generosity of all the sponsors from DAR Sultan Kudarat, DAR Region XII, friends and colleagues.
