Tacurong Arnis Teams Deliver Historic Performance at 12th Carambunal sa GenSan Invitational Tournament
Tacurong City once again proved its strength in martial arts as two of its arnis teams delivered a historic performance at the 12th Carambunal sa GenSan Invitational Arnis Kali Eskrima Tournament,last February 01, 2026 collectively securing an outstanding 23 Gold Medals.
Tacurong – Arnis Fusion Squad
Led by Coaches Kevin L. Belvis, Nomer F. Buenavente, Judilene Blasé E. Buenavente, and Yzamel C. Caritativo, the Arnis Fusion Squad dominated the Padded Stick/Point System category, finishing with an impressive medal haul of:
15 Gold | 6 Silver | 3 Bronze (24 Total Medals)
Their gold medalists included:
Meyased Abdillah, Julian Edgar Albento, Zhian Chester Vann Alayon, Rayvenne Kumiko Castillo, Neale Aidric Decolas, Ferdie Wilmar Dullano, McVhinz Gacayan, Shamcey Garcia, Chad Emman Gonzaga, Jared Marc Mariñas, Princess Ysabelle Nishimura, Azfahar Pendatun, Afsheen Ugan, Danish Ugan, and Chadred Villarde.

Tacurong – Filipino Art Modified Arnis Federation
Under the leadership of Coaches Jester Loro and Humphrey John Penuela, with Assistants Clark Durano and Mark Jim’s Desales, the team displayed exceptional versatility across multiple categories, earning:
8 Gold | 4 Silver | 1 Bronze
Notably, several athletes achieved Double Gold status in both Padded and 3x3 Livestick categories, namely:
Rhexelle M. Caoile, Rose Maine P. Villarde, Dianelle Faith B. Cantor, Erich Daphnie E. Guimbuayan, and Ivan Rabor.
The team also recorded a remarkable 100% Gold success rate in the 3x3 Livestick category, further solidifying Tacurong’s dominance in high-level competition.

Young Tacurong Footballer to Compete in International LaLiga Youth Tournament 2026
Tacurong City continues to make its mark on the international sports stage as a young football talent earns the opportunity to compete abroad.
The Brassfield Football Club / Tacurong City Football Team, known for continuously developing and honing the skills of the younger generation in football, proudly shares that one of its players has been selected to compete in a prestigious international event.
Prince Xypriel Esteves, competing in the Under-9 Category, has been chosen as part of Crocs Football Club, which will participate in the LaLiga Youth Tournament 2026 on February 5–8, 2026, in Bangkok, Thailand. The tournament is recognized as one of Asia’s premier youth football competitions, gathering talented young teams from different parts of the world to showcase their skills, discipline, and passion for the sport.
Prince Xypriel’s inclusion in the Crocs Football Club lineup is a moment of great pride not only for Brassfield Football Club but also for Tacurong City. He carries with him the name of his hometown and represents the Philippines on the international football stage at such a young age.
The City Mayor, Hon. Lina O. Montilla, expressed recognition and support for this remarkable achievement, highlighting how young athletes like Prince Xypriel inspire the community and prove that Tacurong youth can excel beyond local and national competitions.

Tacurong Splashers Make Waves at 1st Waterland Resort Swimming Tournament
Tacurong City bags Overall 2nd Runner-Up finish
Kabacan, North Cotabato — November 29, 2025 — The Tacurong Splashers Swimming Team delivered an outstanding performance at the 1st Waterland Resort Swimming Tournament held at Waterland Resort, Kabacan, North Cotabato, proudly bringing home a haul of gold, silver, and bronze medals, along with multiple Most Outstanding Swimmer (MOS) awards. Their collective effort earned Tacurong City the prestigious title of Overall 2nd Runner-Up in the competition.
Leading the medal charge was Clarivelle L. Collado, who showcased consistency across events with gold medals in the 50m Breaststroke (Category A) and 200m Freestyle (Category B), complemented by several silver medals in backstroke, butterfly, freestyle, and Individual Medley (IM) events. She also contributed to relay finishes, earning bronze and silver medals with the girls’ teams.
On the boys’ side, Karl Alvin P. Peralta stood out with a gold medal in the 50m Butterfly (Division C) and multiple bronze medals across freestyle, breaststroke, and distance events, including bronze finishes in both the Boys 13-and-over Medley and Freestyle relays.
Dominating her divisions, Xanjrea Mykha G. Jayme delivered a remarkable performance, sweeping seven gold medals across backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, butterfly, and individual Medley (IM) events in Divisions A and B, and added a bronze in the 4x50m Medley Relay.
One of the tournament’s brightest stars, Seth Kyrie D. Purol, captured seven gold medals across backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, butterfly,individual medley (IM), and distance freestyle events, and earned a bronze in the Boys 13-and-over Medley Relay. His exceptional performance earned him the Most Outstanding Swimmer award.
Era Tiffany D. Purol also impressed, claiming gold medals in the 50m Breaststroke, 100m Freestyle, and 200m Freestyle (Category C), along with silver and bronze finishes in other events. She was likewise honored as a Most Outstanding Swimmer.
Rising young talent Arich Cate V. Afinidad dominated her events with multiple gold medals in butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle across Categories B and C, added a silver in the 100m IM (Category A), and a bronze in the Girls 12-and-under Medley Relay. She was named Most Outstanding Swimmer (MOS – Girls 8–9).
Loureince Krystian Kyle J. Sorongon contributed a strong set of finishes, highlighted by a gold medal in the 200m Freestyle (Category C), several silver medals, and bronze medals in individual and relay events.
Ghionne Ivanne A. Tac-an collected gold medals in the 50m Butterfly and 50m Breaststroke (Category C), added silver and bronze medals in multiple events and relays, and was also recognized as a Most Outstanding Swimmer.
Chloie Jay B. Uyog added to the medal tally with bronze medals in the 50m Backstroke and 100m Freestyle (Category C), along with a bronze finish in the Girls 12-and-under Medley Relay and a silver in the Girls 13-and-over Freestyle Relay.

Tacurong City Athletes Bring Home Multiple Medals at the 2025 AAK Davao Cup Karatedo Championship
Athletes from Tacurong City delivered an outstanding performance at the 2025 AAK Davao Cup Karatedo Championship held on November 29, 2025, at the Christian Colleges of South Asia (CCSA), Maa, Davao City. The event, sanctioned by the Karate Pilipinas Sports Federation, gathered top karatekas from different regions, making every victory a remarkable achievement.
The delegation, trained under dedicated coaches John Robert L. Butil, Crizel Ann L. Butil, and Ale Ivan Vaien Consuegra, proudly represented City Youth Development Office- Sports section and the City Martial Arts Group.

History has been made as Alexis Angela Philippe Laranjo, a 13-year-old Grade 8 student of Notre Dame of Tacurong College from Barangay New Isabela, Tacurong City, proudly became the first archer from Tacurong City and the Province of Sultan Kudarat to be officially selected to represent the Philippines in an international competition! 🇵🇭💛
Competing at the prestigious Shah Alam Archery Championship (SAAC) 2025, held at Radia Arena, Bukit Jelatong, Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia last September 26–28, Alexis showed her remarkable talent and determination, finishing with a final rank of 9th place out of 1,750 participants from across the globe. 🌍🎯

The Tacurong City Sepak Takraw Team once again proved their strength, skill, and determination as they proudly represented our city in the 4th Mayor Dexter Uy Cup National Open Sepak Takraw Tournament 2025, held at Samar National High School, Samar last August 22–25, 2025.
