On August 20–22, 2026, the Local Finance Committee (LFC) of the City Government of Tacloban convened to review and deliberate on the FY 2027 Executive Budget.
The three-day conference brought together the LFC members to present, evaluate, and deliberate budget proposals from various departments. Through active collaboration and careful assessment, the committee continues to uphold its commitment to ensuring a sound, responsive, and well-balanced budget that supports the programs and priorities of the City Government of Tacloban.

𝐅𝐘 2027 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 was successfully conducted from August 6–14, 2026, bringing together concerned offices and stakeholders to review, discuss, and assess proposed programs, projects, and budgetary requirements for the upcoming fiscal year.

This important activity reflects our continued commitment to transparency, accountability, and sound fiscal management in ensuring that resources are aligned with priority programs and the needs of the community.

On July 28, 2026, the City Budget Office held a simple yet meaningful send-off for Mr. Redentor B. Curate, JD. as he embarks on a new journey as the Municipal Budget Officer of Dagami.

Filled with laughter, heartfelt messages, and even tears, the celebration reflected the genuine appreciation and love of his CBO family.

Shaping the Future of Tacloban: FY 2027 Budget Forum

Yesterday, June 1, 2026, the City Government of Tacloban successfully conducted the Budget Forum for Fiscal Year 2027.

The forum brought together city officials, the DILG Tacloban City Director, department heads, and valued Civil Society Organization (CSO). Together, they discussed the policies and thrust of the city government for FY 2027, focusing on development plans, investment strategies, and the framework for the upcoming budget.

The City Government of Tacloban was awarded with two (2) prestigious award, which is the Public Financial Management (PFM) Seal of Excellence, achieving a PFMAT score of 3.63 with no PFM pillar scoring below 3.0. The City was also conferred the Public Financial Management Gold Compliance Award in recognition of its diligence and commitment in submitting the FY 2025 PFM Assessment Report (PFMAR) and the FY 2026–2028 PFM Improvement Plan (PFMIP), complete with all required supporting documents.

Mr. Vicente Dy III likewise shared the City Government of Tacloban’s key Public Financial Management Initiatives, outlining the innovative practices and improvements that paved the way for these awards.

Led by Hon. Christopher Randy L. Esperas, Chairman of the Committee on Appropriation & Finance, together with the Sangguniang Panlungsod Councilors. Various departments and offices attended to present and defend their proposed budgets for FY 2026, ensuring transparent and efficient allocation of public funds.
