In light of the haze from the Indonesian wildfires, the Environmental Management Bureau RO8 brings you the latest Air Quality Status from the Tacloban Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station.

For Particulate Matter (PM) 10 or Coarse Particles, the Air Quality Index is 64 under "FAIR" AQI.

For PM 2.5, the AQI value is at 45, categorised as "GOOD".

Ha pagka-yana, may-ada gutiay na paghitaas an aton AQI ha PM10 ngan PM2.5. Ha PM 10, FAIR, acceptable o okay pa it kalidad hit hangin, pero puydi maging risgo ha iba na tawo na may pambihira o talagsaon na pagka- sensitibo ha polusyon ha hangin.

Para naman ha PM2.5, o an duro ka gutiay na particles, an AQI aada pa ha “GOOD” o “MAUPAY,” ngan an polusyon ha hangin mayda la gutiay o di ngani waray risgo ha kalawas hit tawo.

INCLUSIVE WORKSPACES

Personnel of the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) Region VIII enriched their understanding on gender sensitivity during the Capacity-Building Training on the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG), Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework (GMEF), Sex-Disaggregated Data (SDD), and Gender and Development (GAD) Planning and Budgeting held at the EMB Region VIII Conference Hall on September 2–3, 2026.

Resource Person Mr. Leo Christian V. Lauzon of the Philippine Commission on Women’s National Gender and Development Resource Program provided comprehensive discussions on GAD mainstreaming, with emphasis on its application to the Bureau’s mandates for both internal and external clients and stakeholders.

The two-day training also featured workshops on the HGDG and GMEF, where participants assessed the Bureau’s existing policies, programs, projects, activities, and enabling mechanisms, as well as sample plans and implementation results through utilizing standard evaluation frameworks.

GAD Focal Person Engr. Janet T. Polea expressed her appreciation to the participants for their active engagement throughout the training, emphasizing the importance of integrating GAD principles into the Bureau’s daily operations and advancing a safe, inclusive, and gender-responsive workplace for all./ ACL
